Pre war style - if it were mine, I’d be out looking for more period correct instruments, lights and grille etc. perhaps some even some 1940s aero instruments/ switches? Great base for a lot of fun! PS swap to wires for that full period look?

You can invoice him but he will ignore it. You can raise a claim in the small claims court, it’ll take a year for the case to be heard and then it’s down to the judge on the day… Personally I’d put it down to experience, in hindsight you should have loaded the machine onto your trailer before paying….
