@stevenstevo2

Yes that would be traumatic, and I would think anyone would be distraught upon discovering such horrific murders. However, I do think it is possible one would also be scared that the perpetrator(s) is still present or nearby and thus fear for one's own life. If I was in fear of my life, I would probably do anything to try to figure out who killed my wife and son, including checking their cell phones. I doubt I would even consider whether doing so made me personally seen guilty.

This guy is a psychopath. He steals from those that trust him. He lies to and embezzles millions from lifelong friends. He had everything anyone could want. He was born with a silver spoon, married a wonderful lady, had two sons, a name respected for generations and apparently an aptitude for law. He made high 6, low 7 figure income. And yet he stole from the weakest and manipulated his closest friends and family. There is no way for us to understand his motives. His mind works in ways we don’t want to understand. I hope Justice will be served and I know God has plans for him and his eternal future.

Very true. I also think he felt Paul was a failure and embarrassment. Alex failed in every way. I actually feel for Buster. I think he will be able to process all these later and accept his dad is guilty...or...it would be so easy for him to never come back from all this. I hope all of the adults in his life can step up and be there. They know how it feels to be betrayed by his dad.
@mamacitachang
@mamacitachang Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, I think it was just that simple. Alex, as a narcissist, felt killing his family was the best way to handle the disaster he caused. He expected an outpouring of community sympathy, a halt to the boat case discovery process that would have exposed the truth about his financial situation, needed to keep Maggie from knowing the true status of their finances, his years of theft and his impending firing and disbarring. Maggie was already embarrassed and felt like an outcast in Hampton because of their son's cause of the death of Mallory Beach so the revelation of what Alex had been doing with client and firm money would have sent Maggie over the edge with shame. She had no idea that their bank accounts were in constant overdraft status and the narcissist couldn't face this..He had to kill Paul along with Maggie to make it look like the murders were in retaliation for the boat death. I really want to know how he misspent millions of dollars. There are claims that he made some bad land deals but there's got to be even more to how this guy blew millions of dollars to the point of having to borrow hundreds of thousands of dollars to get his account out of overdraft status
@MsShandy111
@MsShandy111 Жыл бұрын
Yes, where did All those millions of dollars go? Surely not all on opiates. If Alex was taking 1000mgs of opiates daily he would not be able to stand up. Is this another of his lies. How could he murder his wife and son! It is inhuman and heinous. He is a soulless creature.

This guy is so competent. It’s a shame that he only makes a living wage for being an honest public servant while slime like Alex make 10-15 times his salary chasing ambulances and pushing papers. This doesn’t include the non-taxable income he got from stealing from his blind, paralyzed and dead clients and their families. Thank God for people like this prosecutor who are willing to do the right thing when they could easily transition to the “dark” side of law. Don’t get me wrong, we need legal advocates to help us when we are wronged, and they risk a lot and work very hard for their money, bit they aren’t in the business to seek Justice. They are in it for the 30-40% of the injured and victimized awards. May Alex get the worldly Justice he deserves and may God take it from there.

True! Also, Paul was a bigger financial burden after that boat crash killing Mallory! He was being sued for $10 million dollars. And Alex had to prove to the courts that he truly couldn’t afford such amount on June 10th of that year. This means his financial crimes were about to be exposed!! Paul had to go!! And Maggie was worth money because the properties were under her name. But I heard Maggie was most likely responsible for the housekeepers death in 2018. Did you hear her 911 call? The Bible also says (Leviticus 20.9) that anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Deuteronomy 22: 20-21 Says if your daughter loses her virginity before marriage then the men of the town must stone her to death. In Hosea 13:4, 9 &16 it says the little ones will be dashed to the ground and pregnant women must be ripped open. The Bible is an entire work of fiction that delights in death and murder, it wants and commands people to commit murder. No wonder why so many people who follow that work of fiction don't have problems killing others. Their brains have been corrupted and their morals destroyed.

i'd love to know what other people think - but i'm not sure all the puffing and blowing and ranting and raving ends up doing a whole lot for this prosecution - i love watching opening statements - i can't get enough of them - and i find the most compelling ones are when the prosecutor tells a linear narrative - a compelling story that paints a clear living picture with a cast of characters and their motivations - all moving around on a proper map - starting with a clear point - a time and date and a place and a person - you know like - "on 15th january 2001 - so and so was taking her kids to school - she worked 2 jobs because her marriage had broken up etc etc - she drove down this street here - whereupon she was stopped by THIS DEFENDANT at the traffic lights - he pointed a gun at her - got in the car - etc etc" - i think this guys starts well - but then he starts floating off - he gets disconnected - starts clapping and yelling trying to make an impression - i don't think it worked as well as it could have... just my opinion - i imagine it can't be easy...

I mean AM is there on video 4 minutes before the murders. The only way he didn’t do it is if he left DIRECTLY after the video. Didn’t hear the gunshots from 1/3 a mile away. Didn’t bring his phone down to the hanger for some reason. Calls twice with no answer but doesn’t check in by easily driving down. Either he killed them or he’s the most unlucky person in the world because everything he did was in service of an alibi.

@@hamishg0rdon agreed. I don’t envy the jurors though. The only thing the defense has is that he cleaned up very well in a ten minute span. Or he just cleaned up at his moms. Either way, very compelling. Ultimately, I think I would put him away knowing all the surrounding factors that put him in this position. If he is innocent, he is the most unlucky person alive, because almost everything points at him.

The closing arguments will be even better with the video and on-star evidence. You can take those two things and bring in more and more evidence. Such as, his demeanor after the shootings, even three days later. Lying about his alibi will do him in.

It's beyond obvious he did it. That video shows he's the only one there that could have done it. He lies about being there for a reason. It's clear that with the lack of any defensive wounds that the person that got right up on them was known to them. If it had been some secret killer coming at them there would have been Some attempt at defense. Alex lied and provided an according to him, an airtight alibi. He soon changed his story because that video blew his alibi apart.

How hard did the investigative genesis on this case look for the guns? They didn’t take plaster casts of tire tracks, didn’t remove shot pellets from the rafters, waited 2 hours to tape the crime scene, sent his friends up to the house to hang out, then allowed the maid to clean the house and wash the clothes…the scene was released 12 hours after the killings. This prosecutor only has a circumstantial case because law enforcement grabbed the dead and went back to bed. I hope this becomes a case study for how not to conduct a double murder at an influential legal families house.

I think the state should have included as many reasons as possible for Murdaugh to have done this. But they only charged that it was done as a distraction from his financial issues ? But the son had that catastrophic boat incident, and were there rumors Maggie was considering a divorce ? Maybe just rumors though since the state didn’t mention it ?
