The guy on the right goes to shake the winners hand and never even acknowledges Gaur. The winner takes the hand shake, and avoids making eye contact with him as well. When the show cuts to the commercial break, Alex can be seen walking directly up to Gaur, not to the 1st place contestant or 2nd place contestant...that makes Gaur the winner. Good stuff.

@@drae408 That seems pretty unfair to say. We don't know how they interacted afterwards, and to me it looked like the guy on the right was trying to keep himself together (just like Alex was). He tapped the table when the other man said it, and you could see him choking up a little when giving his response. Judging them for not acting how you think they should on live TV is peak KZfaq comments section. For all we know they all started bawling when the cameras stopped.

I started watching Jeopardy when I was a teenager in the 80's and would watch it every day when I got home from school. I still watch it regularily today. Alex seems almost like a family member even though we've never met. He will be dearly missed when that day comes and nobody will be able to replace him. That will be the end of the show.

@@exclamationpointman3852 No I would definitely disagree with you there. Maybe you could easily be replaced at your burger flipping job. But Alex Trebek is Jeopardy. It's more than just talking to the guests and telling them whether or not they got the answer correct, it's his personality and extensive knowledge base and allow him to make interesting anecdotal references and commentary on why the contestant chose the answer they did.

Alex Trebek is like the Fred Rogers of game shows. He, like Fred Rogers transcends the platform he is on and demonstrates what character and goodness are all about. He will become the standard by which everyone else is judged. He is a National Treasure and my prayers go out to him and his family. I wish he was in contact with Dr. Mercola because Mercola is on The Cutting Edge of so many Innovative treatments and would probably be able to give him the best advice possible on the planet while he is going through his treatment. I hope somebody already reached out to Dr. Mercola about him.

Alex may be losing his battle, but he left an indelible, honorable mark on his craft and taught us all to be strong in the face of imminent doom. He has not slowed one bit, and we all know he very well could have folded his hand and withered away out of the public eye. Such strength he displays. A workday night of jeopardy without Trebek never seemed like a real possibility. My grandmother watched jeopardy regularly and through her I have been watching for well over 25 years. While she has since passed on the every night ritual of jeopardy has not. Trebek is a legend. I would never wish cancer upon anyone.
