I try so hard not to get hyped for films these days. I've been let down too many times. I just can't help it in this case! Please, please don't break my heart, Alien: Romulus!

Even in the worst Aliens stuff the Xenomorphs are terrifying. This is like saying the Yautja will be hunters.

I really hope this movie is terrifying and disturbingly violent and gory . Thats what an alien movie should be

And every iteration of Terminator was described in the same glowing terms (by James Cameron no less, at least for "Genisys", or was it "Dark Fate".). Those kinds of statements needs to be taken with an entire quarry of salt at this point :)

I do like that he edited that trailer himself. That tells us he has a lot of influence and control of this film. From what he's said during interviews, I believe that's a good thing for Alien fans 👍

A person I know does market cast for people coming out of movies and one of them was the new trailer was for alien Romulus and apparently it shows the alien WY gets is fossilized in a meteor. Also there is new tech that they hold up to someone’s back and it shows the chestburster milling around inside the dude. Hope it’s accurate

I love Isabela Merced. She is a superb actress. She really get along with her Co-stars who she work with. If i did watched Madame Web . I will be tortured of watching it. I'm sold to watch this movie. I am huge fan of Alien and Predator movies.

The chrome details are a welcome return. I'm glad to see them going back to the biomechanoid look again, rather than the generic sinewy creature look that they kept going with post Alien3.

At this point, I've learned my lesson and nothing gets me excited until I actually see the thing, because they said the same thing about Prey: Trachtenberg knows EVERYTHING and is super passionate about Predator and then he throws a bunch of mumbo-jumbo like the Predator can remain cloaked in water (spoiler: 300 years in the future, he can't do that anymore, because... I guess his tech regresses? Hilarious! Tell how "passionate" the director was) and he gave him a super advanced helmet without a visor, explained that "image data was being fed directly to his brain" WHAT? You made a prequel that's 300 years earlier than the original and you gave the Predators MORE TECH? Wow! AMAZING! So much passion! So yeah, you can understand why I'll just tone down any excitement until I actually see this one.

My Mom took me to the theater in 1979 to view ALIEN............I was 5 years old. LOL needless today still the best space / alien movie of all time. I have high hopes for Ridley's original masterpiece IMO besides ALIENS all have fallen very short.

Well lets see. I remember Ridley Scott saying that Alien Covenant was going to be scarier than Alien 1979. I believed him and after watching it I promised myself never again.

The Alien will never be scary again, because seeing him is like seeing an old friend at this point. We love him too much.

Tbh I was excited for this film as soon as Alvarez was announced. He is the perfect choice. The intensity he brought to Evil Dead is all we need to know. Romulus will be a thrill ride. Unlikely to touch the subtlety of the original but these days an art-house Alien movie is unlikely to strike a chord with audiences. The DNA will more likely share the energy of Aliens than Alien, despite Ridley's involvement. We shall see.

I was in this one room telling people not to bash the movie before you see it and that I'll stay positive. The director actually found me and thanked me for defending his production and that I will not be disappointed! How cool is that?!

I always thought the Xenomorph's teeth were made from marble or graphite which is why they had that pearlescant/metallic sheen to them

I hope this is true. But Hollywood has made me very skeptical about any upcoming films.

I honestly can’t see this kind of movie being truly scary anymore. Times change, and reality is much scarier than long headed aliens with teeth.

This is great news because while the effects in Prometheus were well done the CGI in Covenant were absolutely abysmal.

I'm reserving judgment until I see reviews from people I trust.

It's PR. The Prometheus trailer was sublime and see how that turned out - I won't be fooled like that again. I hope I'm wrong and that this is fucking great but let's be honest here guys; this is a franchise that has been consistently pumping out movies since 1979. There have been 8 of them and this will be number nine. In all that time, the last decent entry to the franchise was Aliens in '86. It's nearly 40 years since they made a good one! They've since gone on to shat out another 6 underwhelming sequels/prequels. That's a fucking dreadful track record by the standards of any franchise you can name. Even if we are generous and allow for the fact that some people dig on Alien 3 then it's still 32 years since they got it right and they've since pumped out 5 terrible films. Still a shocking track record - how can anyone have faith in this franchise at all?

All i need is a good Predator movie on there homeworld , from their perpective. Carnage everywhere. The journey of a young predator going on a mission to be the best., and along the way he might encounter aliens and maybe even engineers or even humans ..... That could be awesome. 🔥🔥🔥

Really can't wait to see this film, I love the Alien lore so much and still watch the original even though I've watched it so many times since 1979 .

It is that obligatory young diverse box ticking Disney cast that I find most frightening. I don’t like Don't Breathe or the Evil Dead reboot so my alarm bells are ringing like something that rings alot. I so hope I'm wrong but I fear it will end up being the usual modern overhyped shite.

According to newly released rumours,the story starts with a spaceship discovering the remains of the first xenomorph from the alien movie.They bring it to the nearest spacestation and extract it for eggs which creates the facehuggers.Then the whole spacestation gets infected and all the humans dies,and leaves a big xenomorph hive behind. When contact is lost with the other spacestations.A spaceship is sendt to investigate. Then a battle breaks out,and only one off the investigators manage to escape. Or did she? In the end we see that she also is infected and she sets the escapepod to self construct,but before that happens,the escape pod lands on a unknown planet with small humanlike beings,but with blue skin. And that makes a cliffhanger for a follow-up movie

Please keep us updated on everything that you find out!!!! FEDE-- stated that he made all of these sets and they were painstakingly constructed to match up with the oldies…. All of the other movies have a little botches on them---some of them didn’t make too much of sense because there wasn’t enough description in the movie to explain to us what was really going on---but if you are an alien fan and you watch aliens-- you want hundreds of aliens and human beings fighting for their lives!!!!

I just hope this film delivers the scares and brings something new to the franchise.. also making a new story and taking it in a new direction and move on from the established story.

When Creators of new installments show reverence for the source material, that always bodes well for the new installment possessing a similar spirit and element that made people love the original so much

I personally think that due to Ridley being involved, that was the only reason Fede Alvarez got to cut his trailer. Just my opinion, though!

I saw the original Alien movie when it first came out in the cinema. Excellent movie, unique, something quite new in a number of genres. Aliens was more an action movie than the original 'gothic horror' that was the masterpiece Alien. Both were good movies, but very different. It will be interesting to see where this one begins and leads.

Can anybody tell me what the heck Romulus means? and after watching the trailer I am happy with it the CGI for the Alien looks good and it looks like they're still using some Practical Effects in certain scenes and have you noticed that when you look at a Xenomorph's teeth they look like there made of metal because they have this silver color🤔

The more hype I keep hearing about this film, the more suspicious I become. And with each and every teaser trailer that drops I am reminded that I have seen it all before in one way or another. The only thing new or different here is the fact that there is another director stepping up to the plate in his attempt to make a decent Alien movie which hopefully will stand out against the debacles/failures of the past. It's good to hear that he is paying homage to the original movie (the only decent Alien movie in my view), and with that in mind it may turn out to be something special - although totally formulaic. I will keep my own expectations as low as I can because my suspicions outweigh my hopes.

So amped for Alien!

I would expect nothing less given the part of the timeline this film takes place during. Fuckin better be authentic. It's right in between the two most iconic films in this franchise. It should feel like the first while slowly transferring into aliens and that world.

"Terrifying is subjective of course . With every new movie, the mystery surrounding the xeno is unveiled . Over cummalive effect they become less scary. People used to think the Daleks on Dr who were scary. And another point: we havent had a decent Alien movie since i dont know when, and I'm not counting Prometheus

I wonder what this - "using practical effects where possible" - really means 🤔 Back in the day they ONLY used practical effects and it worked perfectly so. They had certain limitations that forced them to be creative and think outside the box in order to make it work. I wonder how much of that actually played a part in the over-all success? It probably made a huge difference in terms of tension in certain scenes.

I'm one of those rare breed who liked all the Alien movies. Granted, some were much better than others but all of them had at least one scene I enjoyed. I'm very careful about what reviews and trailers I watch so I get surprised when I watch it. It's Dizzy Studios so my expectations are quite low.

I hope the movie is good but keeping expectations in check!

I really hope it's is a great movie, however, we heard all the same stuff about Alien Covenant, about how much gore there was, all these new back and neck bursters, a throw back to the original, less cgi and more puppetry, Ridley bummed it up about how great it was and he used hundreds of litres of blood. And the more I watch it the worse it is. So I'm gonna downplay this and hopefully, just hopefully be pleasantly surprised

It's gonna suck. The images they've shown so far are straight rips off 1980's Aliens....right down to the Ripley scenes, poses, props, and camera angles. "Authentic" in today's unoriginal & lazy Hollywood simply means "rehash". Just get the original 1980s movie, remastered in 4K & Dolby Atmos sound on bluray.

Go watch the trailer for any 90s movie. They give west everything, including the ending. T2 is a great example.

Most wont agree but i like how this takes place in between alien and aliens. It was 57 years before they found ripley now this leaves room to find out what david did further after alien covenant with all those embryos to experiment with

I think this is actually going to be a really good Alien film for a change.

I avoided much about Alien: Romulus for 2 reasons! 1st: I thought it's the 3rd part of the Prometheus films. Luckily I'm wrong. 2nd: There is nothing new to Romulus that I can think off rather than being some sort of "Alien-Remake" wich is unecessary. Prey for example did a couple of things right when they choose a new approach on Predator movies. First was discontinuation of the Name but most importantly, they picked up the fan based ideas of what would it look like when the Predators hunted in the human past. I would've preffered a medieval setting but it was great and new nontheless. With Romulus... meh I don't know. I guess I wait.

I have tried not to get too hyped for this with Disney (parent company) and modern crap we have been getting... but _this_ does help some of those worries and give some hope that we may actually get something _good_ with our beloved franchises again... maybe... hopefully.
