A quick moment to ponder thoughts about aging, alignment and imbalances.
If you have been following along with me, I love to post videos to help people find new ways to renew their fascia. At the same time, I have many thoughts that come up, and want to share them with you, as a stepping off to further conversation.
Do you have known imbalances in your body?
Do you notice alignments that are off or out of whack?
I love to hear from you!
Thank you for being here and a part of my community :-)

So agree. Our body’s ability to compensate for weakness, injury etc has an immense effect in our tissues structure and alignment. And like you have demonstrated if it can change one way it change into a more balanced equitable way too. And we can effect that thru awareness first, consciously noticing to correct with our as it moves with persistence and consistency. Just love your work Erin.

What beautiful insight! I find this conversation so intriguing. As I work with my body in small nuanced ways in combination with focused changes in tissue healing, the results are amazing! Thank you for your message :-)

Thanks for those thoughts - I’m a tap dancer who’s returned to it after a few years of not training (Im 37 now) and I noticed a significant lack of control of my left leg/ foot, issue I never had before. I thought it’d go away by training more, but I’m realising that there’s a deeper issue! Went to see a postural podiatrist who noticed the left knee thing going inward you’re talking about + plus something around the stomach (!) that blocks the left side of my body. I just find it fascinating! Anyway all this to say I appreciate the level of attention you’re putting in understanding where your imbalance comes from. I’m trying to be extremely patient with myself when I practice and do some movement extremely slowly to figure out where I’m using unnecessary tension/ how my weight is distributed etc. Also have a 60 degree thoracic scoliosis that I’m sure must impact this whole thing as well 😅 I just found your course on Daily OM I’ll buy it this week the whole fascia thing makes sense to me. Thanks again and apologies for the rambling! ❤

Hello! Thank you so much for your message, I love hearing others experiences, it helps to tie things all together. I find it all fascinating as well. I feel like a fascia investigator but that also includes looking for inactive muscles and nervous system disruptions. Moving slowly is KEY to connecting the dots! I would love for you to keep me posted on how things are going. Keep up the good work! Erin

Thanks for sharing! Often times it helps me to just talk through some of the experiences in my body as it might relate to someone watching!

I think awareness of specific muscles is a developed skill. I had been rehabbing my shoulder doing elastic band pinches for a week or two when one day I noticed that while I was pinching my shoulder blades, I was also pinching my glutes! I figured out I could stop that by doing the motion slowly and focusing on not pinching my glutes while I pinched my shoulder blades. It took about a week or 2 that I did not have to think about it any more.....and then I started wondering what else I have been subconsciously flexing....

Erin, may I contact you on a different platform. I have a unique situation that I have been dealing with for 15 years and PT hasn't been helpful nor am I getting the 1:1 assistance which I need. I had an injury resulting in CRPS and the nerve entrapment and impingement which I have - the pain is absolutely unbearable. I can't develop a strong core due to the injuries and the pain I have in those areas. I think you may be able to help me - can you let me know how to reach you?

Do you have any thoughts on PRI for addressing imbalances?

It’s absolutely wonderful! There are many schools of thought when it comes to, addressing asymmetries. I think the overall body awareness aspect is extremely important. And then of course, the approach we take to balance out, increase the health of our connective, tissues and more easily enter the parasympathetic nervous system.
