Maybe what I struggle with is in this set there are only 3 flat 'normal' pieces of track and nil straights. I suppose a 2 year old wouldn't notice that

Yeah I understand that - I guess I'm less concerned about the lack of 'normal' track in these sets because there are enough up and down that it still makes it relatively easy for you to mix and match. But it's definitely something all train sets (even model ones) struggle with, and the lack of track packs these days is even more of a worry on that front

@@XtremeTrainz When you study the whole 'Trackmaster Track System' it's incredible how many track pieces are 'specialised track' I'm thinking that worthy of a video because no other track system I have has such a complexity of components to play with toy trains. Why has Mattel developed such a monster?

I don't think the lack of a switch is a big issue here. To me this isn't the kind of set that you connect to other sets with switches, it's the one you take apart and combine with pieces from other similar sets to make a big layout. Sure, switches are always welcome, but it's not a big deal

Great review! I honestly don't really have any interest in these sets they're pretty dull just being an oval of track then you can't even use most of it in a regular layout :/ I really don't like how the sign is a screencap from an episode I would've much preferred a warning sign or something. That Gordon face is really cool though!
