Yup. Which sadly makes implementation of gender-neutral terms very hard and a ridiculously much-discussed topic especially for conservatives. Some people would rather kill their loved ones than use gender-neutral terms that weren't part of the German language 10 years ago. They often make such an incredible crybaby argument out of it that it often is impossible to come to any agreement when talking about this with older or strongly conservative folks, among other things. The English language is SO MUCH simpler in this regard.

@@nickkohlmann as a German, I've struggled to find one universally agreed upon German gender neutral form. When I was working in Germany and we had a nonbinary contractor, I would have to refer to them as their name in meetings where we discussed them in their absence (or use a random gender) and it was really tedious and awkward and made me wish there was something like the English "they". What gender neutral pronouns would you recommend? (Even if I didn't care about being respectful about a person's chosen gender in their absence, I literally didn't know anything about them, their assigned sex at birth or whatever and never met them, I was just responsible for payments. So I wouldn't have had a clue whether to use the German she or he.)

I am ashamed by you speaking german but still not being able to find enough descriptive nouns to use instead of the name. "Latinx" is still a universally hated term by native speakers who get this forced upon by non-native speakers.

Yeah, trying to slaughter livestock animals as quickly and ethically as possible is FAR different from... that other stuff. Humans and animals are also often physically incompatible, you could literally hurt the animal, or spread disease. Gross. If that person really cared about the animals, they should speak up against farms that don't live up to the standard, or become a politician to try and raise the standards of livestock care. Something like that. But what they really want isn't that.

Just to blur the line a bit more, dairy cows are impregnated often so that they continue to create more milk. If they give birth to a male, they often become veal, and the females likely become more dairy cows. So, the industry does rely on frequent impregnation of cows, just not attempted by humans.

well, it's more like in these 30, 90% of them have... issues, but typically don't show them to the public eyes as much as they can, either as a respectful manner bc ppl don't want to know, or because they want to preserve their social image. In both cases, all is well. The remaining 10% of them though... Let's just say we had a few good examples in this video. And i'd say they were pretty chill, compared to what a severe case would be. Just a heads up, I'm not a furry. At least not in a sense that would define me as such. I've just been interested in the community because I wanted to forge my own opinion on them before jumping into the hate train.
