Your energy amazes me, Sarah. Well done. As an aide for weed suppression and moisture retention, we layer cardboard and newsprint (no coloured ink) on the bottoms of garden boxes before putting in clean, weed free soil and compost. Never bury weeds in your beds as a cheep fill, or you will be cursing yourself later as the weeds will come back 10-fold. If you are bringing in soil to top up the boxes make sure you know the source. Soil contaminants such as chemicals and motor oils will end up in your vegetables. I hope your allotment produces well for you, times are getting tougher for people everywhere.

very cool. one thing that s easy to grow is garlic, plant in the fall or early spring. and let it grow, during summer you can harvest the scapes which are delicious and in the fall, each clove you planted will have produced a bulb.

Yay ,I love that you started this channel ,It's a lot of work to set up but so satisfying to see your garden growing ,not to mention eating out of it . I'll be getting a late start this year .I'm moving to the Scottish Highlands from Washington State in a few months so I'll be starting all over from scratch .I might get things set up enough to do some cool crop things this year . Also can't wait to get back to walking the shore for bit's of pottery and "things" and getting to hunting down some old tips . You and the northern Mudd ladies are like kindred spirits ,muddlarking ,gardening and crafting . The bed with the sandy soil would be good for growing carrots .

Yes, just sent over to you via Gail and Alex. 👍 I have two allotments that were completely overgrown with thick BlackBerry brambles. The back plot i reclaimed as it was really thick with brambles and had been used by other plot holders to dump all their rubbish. It took me a year to clear, it now has raised beds. I have planted fruit trees and fruit bearing bushes. It’s still an ongoing Labour of love. But my daughter and I do grow a wide variety of vegetables …😀👍👍👍👍
