I can understand your situation one hundred percent. I'm sorry about your situation, I have had similar experiences to yours. When you started crying, I cried too. Because I know what it means to live without friends. I was two years from 21 to 23 years only. I saw a friend from time to time, but only 4 times a year. And the bewilderment I felt in those years was horrible. No girl. Stomach health problems, which I still have when I am almost 31 years old, I had enrolled in university but had not passed. I went into depression and anxiety for nearly two years. The year before I had a serious stomach problem, but I still had friends, but they turned out to be bad people, so I decided to drop them. After doing therapy, I went back to college to get a degree and in the meantime I had found a friend and it held up for a couple of years, after that things went downhill. I wish him all the best in the world, but a toxic climate had been created, because people had gotten in the way to cause discord and I hated that. From 28 to 29 I was left alone again. During the lockdown I had the thought of killing myself, luckily I live with my parents, otherwise I don't know if I would be alive. Now I'm thinking of radically changing my very precarious job (I live in Italy) And over time I have made 2 3 friends who I don't see much, because we don't live nearby. Friend, there is always the possibility, rest assured that things will be fine :) A person who had lost hope in life tells you that. I still have a hard time believing in life, for everything that has happened to me, but now maybe I have finally found a girl even if at a distance, but I don't care because I like her a lot. But until I was 28, I had only kissed girls and something more. Then things changed, but you still feel that strong sense of inadequacy, because I'm not the classic macho alpha super extrovert that follows that crazy Jordan Peterson, I'm more introverted and less inclined to have big social groups, I love Soundgarden, Radiohead, Nirvana and Pearl jam, books, nature, writing, reading, playing the guitar, jogging and singing and composing graphics. But I hate this social stigma on men who are more introverted, have mental health difficulties or don't have many friends or aren't rich enough or have health problems. I've never been a leader.

by listening to your story (I can relate in certain ways but I'm a woman) I can tell you're subconciosly choosing to not be in a relationship by putting relationships on a pedestal. There is a part of you that doesn't feel safe receiving love because you never received it from your primary caregiver. I came to similar realizations and currently going to the process of healing my wounds to release the negative beliefs that keep creating the same outcomes. But there's hope, once you become aware of what's blocking your desires then you can work to remove those blocks and receive the love you truly want.

The sad thing here is that to the world, we look like we are the crazy, frustrated people with issues when in fact we are very simple, just longing for love. But I hate when people say, love yourself only , I am sorry but it feels like people think I am stupid or something, like I can't take care of myself, like I don't enjoy being alone. That's not necessarily why, man. My mother is plenty kind and supportive, so I don't have any issues there. But I have always suffered from wanting to get women, wanting to BE WANTED by attractive women, etc. It's built into a lot of genetically as men. Not everyone experiences this to the same degree simply for genetic reasons, but those of who experience it strongly will struggle with this regardless of our upbringing.

I know people throw that term around a lot, but if she was.........then that probably has a lot to do with your comfort level around women and you may not be aware if it, but women can sense that awkwardness and it makes them uncomfortable. I would suggest some counseling, geared towards getting off your chest your toxic childhood with the understanding you want to move towards having an emotionally healthy and loving relationship. Try and uncover how your toxic childhood is keeping you from enjoying that reality. You are a very handsome man and articulate.........don't give up, but in my opinion, you need some professional help to sort all of that out. Your mom has done more damage than just the face value verbal abuse.
