I am building a 1660 Lowe roughneck with a 80hp jet. The motor weighs 378lbs I had pods welded on. Helps with the extra weight.

Good info. I'm going to convert my 150 HP prop to jet this winter; your results will help me a lot in knowing what I will need to do. Can't wait to see the next run with the hot feet.

How difficult was it to convert the tunnel on the bottom of your boat? I just bought a 1756 05 Lowe Roughneck for cheap that I'm wanting to turn into river jet boat with either an inboard or outboard. Would love to see your entire setup! Thanks man!

It wasn’t too hard to do. I just flipped the boat upside down to do the cutting and welding, that made it pretty easy.

Nice work. How does it perform?

Works great. It’s pretty nice being able to drive right over logs and not have to worry about the prop, or lower unit.

Jet runs shallower without the tunnel. Just saying, don't get why all these guys think they need both the tunnel and the jet?

Because you can slide over gravel bars, and logs without worrying about talking out the foot.

You can also have a electric power glide to lift the motor up and down
