Today we go look at a budget BFS rod that is available on Aliexpress so that you can target Bass, Trout, Perch and all the other predatory ultralight species on some great value for money gear. If you are new to BFS fishing (bait finesse system) and you don't know what the best reel and rod is for you then this channel is a great starting point. We will look at some favourites such as the Seasir Cast X, Soloking Acura, Kingdom Micro Monster, Tsurinoya Dark Wolf Ultra, Purelure Silver Feather and the Cormorant.

Just to clarify, this spinning version is 53.5g and the casting version is 76g.

So over 20g difference with this type of minimalistic reel seat? Are there other differences between the versions other than reel seat and guides?

@@borreholic7238 yea it's quite extraordinary the difference.. If I was to guess I would think 10g difference not over 20. Maybe it was required to balance the rod

Be very careful with that tip. I have 2 plumes. One broke the top section off and second one has split. However, I probably threw too heavy. I still like them both very much. Good sensitivity. Thx for video

@@5wisher5weet I think the delicacy and plume are rods that could be offered in different lengths and maybe powers. Especially the delicacy that has a good reputation.

I suggested to them to do something like that. Expand the successful line of rods and maybe give them a face lift so they can compete with the new rods like handing magic L that has been very popular the last 2 months

I love the look of the plume but it is not sensitive and is a open hook bait only rod. I tried to use it for a weightless roboworm . It was a deplorable. There is no way you can cast over 6g properly with this rod. It is what it is. good for the light stuff with open hooks. Tight lines my friend. ps you need to give that Purelure a rest bro.

I have the Cemreo Zacco on the way, hopefully that rod has some improvements. I agree with the casting weight. I think not much more than 4 grams is appropriate. What do you mean give the Purelure rod a rest? Which on? The Zero?

@@yep.fishing I meant the silver feather reel. You must love that reel. I go on kicks where I want to use the same rod so now I take like 4 every day and I don't know if this is better or worse but my hands are fuller. LOL :)

I use it because there isn’t anything I’d rather use over it and I cannot really afford to get a cormorant or loongze. It’s a good reel that I trust so I can compare the rods better by using the same reel.

nice looking rod for the price with 40T carbon .. 8g lure will be pushing it with a 0.8mm tip... if it was 1mm 1.1 or 1.2mm tip it would be more ideal for the max 8g lure

I caught a type of Perch here in Australia that would of been about that 5lb mark on the Mavllos Ultima. It's a shorter UL with a fairly thick butt too

I have a couple, for over a year now, forget 8g. Sure, you could, but it is way over its ability. Works well, between 1 and 3. Anything above that, is really out of its range. Its fun, for light bass, 1 to 2 lb, and if you have a net you can scoop them out with, forget lifting anything above that out the water, as you will brake it in time. Its great, for the money, with a dark wolf on it, cheap, fun, very good in its range. From 3 up, ill take the zodias, currado always, which way out performs it, of course, different prices. But, not when buying two in same year. That solid tip, does not match that well with the tubular carbon. Also, not sensitive imho, solid tips in this diameter are not, fish hook themselves though. The flex of the solid tip, is too much for the eyes on the rod, the line drags on the blank, so you need to play fish horizontally. to avoid that, as it will again, either stress the blank right where it joins the solid tip, or, potentially break line. Its a decent, fun bfs rod, with many weaknesses. Be warned.

I would love the spinning version. I didn't land a big enough fish to load the rod enough to know if that was an issue. I will try using it again at some stage. Maybe I will take it on the kayak
