This is a look back on Andrew Toney's career. Andrew Toney was a pure scorer who always found a way to get his shot. Helping him earn two all-stars and a ring along the way. Toney would always elevate his game in the postseason in particular against the Celtics. It appeared Toney was destined for a Hall of Fame career before injuries and mismanagement got the best of him.

This was the golden era of basketball for me…my team was the Sixers so I remember all of these series. The Johnson/Moncrief Bucks were a load, the Nets were ballers, the Celtics were the Celtics and the Lakers were Showtime…the games were all well played and the series were always nerve racking. Doc, Moses, Mo, Bobby, Caldwell, etc…but Toney was my favorite. That dude was ice cold and smooth as silk…

Philly has been a trash organization for as I know right in that era (probably why had to stop, ol boy running constantly narrating drew me bonkers, I cud enjoy the memories..also its like his voice is so young..it loses credibility b/c he talks like saw it all unfold.😆..its just me really..but had to exit. Got it all in memorie..it was a great time but 76's had no leadership b/c of just & still a crappie org...look how they wasting Embid career w/disfuctional teamates..It reminds me of the vid..when Bird was beating them they were so disfunctional..but yet the greastest road show in the league..but their was a lot going on as NBA wanted to not let an ABA icon like doc..out market the Bird & Magic just begging..it was not gonna happen...Doc was beloved by all still but the new bloods had arrived & been loving it ever since.

Thank you for featuring this player, and having a refresher in this socmed era. Back in 2000s he was often mentioned and moreso in 76ers’ title run in 83. MJ idolize Dr J, while MJ’s jump shot reminds of Toney (though MJ’s a next level). Nonetheless, Toney brought jump shot into a higher standard in the 80s. Hope and pray he is doing OK nowadays.

They questioned his pain? Fuck them. I know a guy who played against him was he was a sophomore in high school. The guy was a senior. He says he'd literally step across half court and fire. He said, Andrew scored 49 on them as a 10th grader.

Toney was an unsung hero type of player. He sacrificed his body and career stats to make the Sixers better.
