A button on the Apple Watch alerts first responders even if you don't want it to.

Law enforcement responds to many calls that turn out to be nothing. Better safe than sorry.

I accidentally called 911 from my Apple Watch at work and even though I told them it was an accident, they said they still had to send the police down (I work at a medical facility). Fortunately there are police officers at work and I told them what happened, they we’re able to clear it up.

That makes sense, since someone could have done something to you and tried to cover it up saying “it was an accident” Lucky you stopped it though

I have an iphone, and I have had to use the SOS function for my Mom! It's not fun, but It's wonderful that it's so easy to use if you were to need it. I've needed to use it once, and I hope I never end up having to deploy it again!

You can flip the orientation of your watch so that the buttons are on the other side away from the wrist… (upside down) Also do this at the gym when doing push-ups etc

It just happened to me. I didn’t even know it was a thing. This is why I like androids, none of extra (surprises) just want you (need)

Best features but one of the worst things to mess with even on accident.

they should make it harder to do by accident. holding a button is too simple. it should have to be pressed rapidly like 10 times.

Complete disastrous system I use a plastic screen protector that moved slightly and was pressing the side button without me knowing about it and then the emergency alarm came on announcing it would be calling emergency services and for some reason I couldn't cancel it the touch display didn't work! Now I don't know if someone will appear I hope not because the call may not have went through I pressed everywhere so frantically but my data yes I think it went! Terrible touch screen didn't work when you needed it to cancel it all!
