im a lonely 29 year old man but i will change this, wont let this break me, i will document my journey of weight loss and fighting loneliness, i also had some major mental health issues that i wont disclose. never give up on yourself, change is possible

29 is so young. You have plenty of time to turn your life into what you want it to be. All the best for 2024. ✌🏼

The interesting part around a third of way into the video that you mentioned (goals etc.) is a documented psychological process. If you imagine hatred or sorrow, the more you keep it to yourself the more powerful it seems to become and hence harder to restrain, pursuit of goals is similar. If you keep it yourself and internalise your more likely to stick to it.
@g3nwestern7667 ай бұрын
This is partly due to the dopamine you get for sharing goals before you achieve them, e.g someone congratulates for "taking a step in the right direction" you are almost tricked into reaping the social rewards of the goal before achieving it

2023 was the worst year of my Life. It was negative from the Start. Only good thing was the nice Summer. Im glad its over. Not even 2021 was as bad as this One. Jesus Christ is the only Thing thats keeping me alive. Turning from my Lifestyle of gaming and laying around without a Job is my Goal. I wanna get up and do Stuff for Christ, even if its hard. Beeing a Ligth in this World of Darkness as the Bible says. My best wishes for you Brother and God Bless from Switzerland! You are not alone keep this in Mind

Took me a long time to figure out, goals dont really work, what works are working towards creating a habbit. A habbit of taking a walking. A habbit of answer I help you when people asks at work etc. Im mixed about the guru manifestation, I used to think it was total BS. But in a way, manifesting something creates a goal and a habbit of manifesting that each day, and habbits do work.

“Desire is a contract that you make with yourself to be unhappy until you get what you want.” The people with lots of desires are the unhappiest, the people with fewer desires achieve them and are more content in the moment All the best in the new year Adam

I feel like Desire is a distraction from inner pain for many people. I’m one of them. Always looking outside of me rather than within.

Minimalism has helped me. Gradually letting go of things, objects, even people, things that aren’t useful, things that burden me, etc, helped me to identify what I want in this life. You can’t get what you want until you know what it is. Once you know, you’ll do what you need to achieve it. But for me it had to start with shedding a lot of physical and emotional baggage first.

i wish you a happy/content 2024! 🤗 i totally believe it is easier to not judge/think about if something is negative or positive (because it can almost always be both anyway, depending on the perspective). seeing things for what they are (including all the "natural contradiction" we often dont like/want) can help to accept/change/walk away (if necessary) and to make plans that fit your long term goals and values perfectly while enjoying the moment too because you know your "why" and are giving yourself what you deserve: love. all the best for your new year🤗

So good to hear from you & see you, Adam. Hauling myself out of my depression right now, I'm likening this physical practice I'm doing to what you're discussing about negative thinking. With my brain fog, I hope I can explain it clearly enough. Studies show that universally, across all races & cultures, when we are down &/or depressed, it manifests physically in many ways: our posture is slumped, our shoulders are rolled inwards, our movements are slower & we can even drag our feet, literally. When I make a conscious effort to stand erect, shoulders back, head up & put a little speed into my steps, invariably, my mood picks up, my feelings following my actions for a change & not vice versa. I'm experimenting now doing the same with my thinking: when I catch myself wallowing in negativity, I find something neutral or positive to occupy my mind. For me, that can mean turning to a favorite book, watching a British comedy, tending to a plant, whatever. It doesn't necessarily help me for long but I'm hoping that by regularly guiding my brain to focus on non-negative thoughts, I'll slowly, over time, rewire some of those deeply entrenched, negative pathways I've travelled far too often. And lastly, at 17:22, the wisdom you share of working towards long-term improvement reminds me of this quote from my favorite author, Henry David Thoreau: " If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, & endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." I am definitely going to live this year to the best of my ability, consistently making small steps to heal & improve & grow over time. There really is no other option; I'm done with being miserable & while happiness can be elusive, I think we can strive, as you say, to find &/or create some contentment for ourselves. Blessings to you, Adam, & thank you for being here for us. You make such a difference for so many.

I like how you use your burden of being behind in life as something you can learn from and teach from. Maybe you can use this to write a book.

This is literally the opposite of all the accepted wisdom. Writing down goals is very effective. Makes them precise, clear and concrete. The trick is making the right goals, something you really need and will benefit your life. If you leave your goals vague and foggy you will never know when youve acheived them. Its like asking a 100m sprinter just to be fit rather than laser focused on that discipline.

If you go to Adam's channel's Home page, next to 'Ageing Millenial,' you'll see an arrow like this: ->. If you click on it, there'll be a pop-up where you can view his address. 🙂
