Calisthenics are the GOAT of lower tier accessory work. Great for hypertrophy, joint health & mobility, easy on recovery and keeps your bodyfat in check.

it has a shit ton of goated compounds too, like weighted deficit pushup, deficit wall-handstand push up, weighted pull/chins, etc.

1) You can do weighted calisthenics. 2) Doing calisthenics does not preclude you from including barbell exercises like deadlifts or squats in your program. You can absolutely do both.

The lack of strength part is not true, guys. just by training front lever(very rarely) and 1-2times/week legs, my deadlift (conventional) 1 rep max increased from 100kg to 200kg. Also, I never train deadlifts, I just check my 1 rep max after every 3 months.

Yup I lift weights 3 days and train calisthenics (strength, hypertrophy, skills, flexibility) 4 days in a week. Of course you need a good program otherwise you cant recover properly.

Ok so unless you're dudebro training for big muscles, there's no downside?

Or you wanna be a strongman, powerlifter or any other strength sport that's not gymnastics. Calisthenics are great, but I don't see why you shouldn't combine them with weights if your goal is athletic performance. Biggest downside, it's very hard to isolate/hit some muscles. And that's for more people than just bros lol. Rotator cuff exercises are much better done with weights. Upper traps are also easier to work with weights. Side delts are also easier to hit with weights, etc. List goes on, remember that even gymnasts do accessory work with weights. Neither weights nor calisthenics are perfect, mix and match to suit your goals, or if you can't do both, you will be fine with either unless your sport specifically requires the movements.
@twirdman2

That a total misinterpretation of what he said. For literally every athletic endeavor you'd undergo you'd be better off by adding heavy weighted movements. Do you think that a weightlifter should train calisthenics only? Should a sprinter, a football player(American or European), a thrower, or any other athlete? If all you care about is aesthics and you like the look of a calisthenics athlete than sure you can train it solely, but if you want to increawse strength, speed, and power you would be better served by adding in some weighted movements.

Im my country we dont have access to suppliments that we can directly buy from an official store , most of them are fake or tainted suppliments , a lot of gyms sell tren tabs at 0.30$ and people have died consuming tainted whey protien . Is there any alternative for a person from a third world country in terms of nutrition to suppliments to build jacked lvl of muscle . I have to drink a litre of milk to get 32g which i could get in a scoop of whey.

You can get all your protein through food. Chicken, Eggs (egg whites), cheese... basically meat and dairy products. 100g of chicken of breast has anywhere between 25-30g of protein. Supplements are not necessary, they just make it easier to get all the nutrients in. If the only supplements you have available are the ones you named, don't take them. Just replace it with some food high in protein. Stay away from the drugs my friend. If you're just starting out, get your diet in check and train hard and good progress will come with a little patience. All the best :)

@Boogieman618

That is so untrue lol most calisthenics athletes probably can’t bench over 225 because they weigh so little. Believe it or not most bodybuilders can actually do intermediate calisthenics.
@palerewin
@palerewin 10 ай бұрын
@@Boogieman618 I dont know what you call intermediate but bodybuilders definitely cant do that. I am a calisthenics athlete and after a year of calisthenics I started lifting weights as well together with 2 of my friends all of us could bench our bodyweight and we were in general doing better than a beginner
@Boogieman618
@Boogieman618 10 ай бұрын
@@palerewin benching your bodyweight isn’t really “better than a beginner” if you’re under 200 lbs. my definition of a beginner is training less than 6 months to a year. I reckon most natural bodybuilders can do more than 15 pull ups and over 50 push-ups. Most of them might even be able to muscle up.

Bro I agree with u but saying absolute strength is bullshit is too far. Relative strength I would say better but not more important in day to day life but yes I agree benching 2x ur body weight but can’t do a push up is L but I would say a good athlete or person/individual would have a mix of both
@bignygaaer5788
@bignygaaer5788 8 ай бұрын
Dude, relative strength is basically crucial to mobility after flexibility, the more you can shed useless weight while maintaining strength the better, someone who can bench 2x its own bodyweight will more than definitely be abble to do push ups, thats basic physics.@@aliciasplaytime6905
