With the rise of social media culture, has come the ability to monetize sex and gain influence from it. In this 2 part episode, the panelists discuss the impact of the digital era on sex. Are we oversexed or are we simply evolving past traditional norms? Are young people getting the wrong message about sex with easy access to porn and not enough honest sex-talk? Let's discuss.

The lady in beige, in the video, was speaking straight truths and it offended more of the group than it should have because half of the group is queer. When the woman spoke of it going into sexual immortality, that falls into sexual lifestyle choices (which they knew that). The women with blue braids and the man is the brown/black sweater were offended. Again, i have to side eyed the lady with the blue braids because she knows that sexual immorality canNOT be defended. Too much oversimplification and denial in life choices that we have made for ourselves. And YES, porn IS real life. Men will, without consent, try and use or display those same sexual actions seen within those videos on a woman/girl in related situations. The Porn industry is very powerful in shaping this nations mind on the state of what we think is sexual education or a real time representation of what sex is. If we are really honest and truthful, we will call it what it is-which is a SIN. Sexual expression before it is appropriate, consenting and or a act out of mature reasoning and awareness is a risk without reward. I liked the idea of the conversation but it lacked truths and was filled with what i believe to be self justictions and watered down views for the sake of being PC.

I really believe Nikki is on point when she explained her view on sexual liberation after Donna said her part. Donna doesn’t think we’re oversexed because it’s always been this way except now it’s more visible and publicized. She doesn’t agree that oversexualization is a thing then because sex anything is being imposed on kids and adults in all media. Donna seems to agree more with peoples free expression but she doesn’t seem to link the risks and issues that come with imposing sex in areas of onlyfans, or media. She’s giving off leniency towards it. And she expressively said “people are” attracted to children. Like it’s understandable that you said that to inform viewers that that type of attraction is real, but I would appreciated if you backed it up with a statement like, “that is not appropriate behavior or thoughts regardless of weather acted upon or not.” Why not follow that up with a clear statement so no person could question for a second that maybe “im not too wrong to think this way.” Not Making it clear at that moment can give some people an idea that they have someone not holding them accountable for once. Kumoyo who talked about having sex with a much older man, it was very disturbing. And instead of your Aunt comfortably giving you a condom, she should have sat you down and talked in depth on why u would need it, when u should do it, and what it means to use it, instead of her deciding to act like the “cool aunt”. That’s where the problem is. She probably thought she was being the cool aunt and helping do something she knew your parents wouldn’t allow, meanwhile she is unintentionally exposing you to something you aren’t informed on.

I really disagree with Donna's view on the current status of sex liberation. Whilst sexual liberation and the seeking of sexual pleasure has always been there (the good, the bad and ugly) I think it has become too readily available and that is worrying when it comes to minors who could be easily taken advantage of through the internet. Predators and perverts have always existed but its a bit scary to know that a potential molester is one click away from your 12 year-old daughter's fingertips. On Kumo, I appreciate her honesty and I admit there are so many stories out there where young teenage girls (below 16) date men over 21 but man, please let us not coddle such stories. I felt it was important for me to share the part of teenage girls having sex with older guys because this is the reality. As a victim and survivor of sexual abuse part of why I was sexually active at such a young age was because of the abuse I faced earlier on.I didn’t know that me having sex with older men was part of my trauma until later on in life as an adult. My intentions were not “coddle”the conversation of teenagers having sex with adults rather it was for me to bring awareness that this is something that’s still happening today. I’m actually dealing with the fact that I was sexually assaulted by grown men but at that time it didn’t feel like it was rape because I liked it. There many other reason why a honest convos are needed. Things like self discipline, how once they start having sex hormones can affect their schooling and other responabilites. Now I think the reason for that can be a bit problematic because younger people are moreso experiencing anxiety & less social than previous generations so sex is less likely to occur..but in general, kids are having sex later.

This is true. We read that what younger folks consider "sex" is very different than previous generations and that anxiety, plus more mental health awareness has resulted in less sex.

I think Kuyomo was right when she stated she wants to know how each generation thinks about sex. I think the conversation is a great starting point into what sexual education should look like today. There were many good uncomfortable truths that came up and I think topics like ageism, homosexuality, bisexuality or family education and sex are really good things to highlight in a sexual education conversation. However, to salvage the ideology around family because a family can happen from having sex, and having a emotional attachment to a partner with the intentions of longevity, while still understanding and practicing safety, self exploration, experimentation. These are all things and then some which will enable safe spaces to not only talk about sex, but relationships as well. Donovan, I salute you for sharing your truth and status and also having a platform that many can take away from.❤😇

Re: Charles' revolution statement (industrial, etc.), America experienced its sexual revolution in the '60s, right? Personally I don't equate what we're seeing now, to a revolution. I do strongly agree with what he said about spaces like twitter making certain content (e.g. authentic sex) accessible though. Also, Donavan's final word about "the other stuff around sex" at the end was so important and appreciated. Can't wait for Pt 2!

New subscriber here, love your channel. I wanted to ask if you would do a talk about the anti - blackness of black features in the black community especially towards black women. I’m currently a 21 year old black women who experience featurism in my every day life and wanted to know other black women experiences. Such as darkskin & lightskin women experiences. Particularly lighter skin women because they are not talked much about. I want to know if it has affected them through work , dating , being out in public etc. generally if they can offer an advice on how to deal with featurism and how they navigate society. Even though , I try to remain positive and confident dealing with featurism has still negatively effect me as i experience the most distasteful / bottom barrel treatment from the black community that enables other communities doing the same. It impacts my daily life especially social aspects and the work environment. I have faced so much workplace discrimination for being the only black woman with Afrocentric features). I see other women that get lip fillers get way better treatment in the workplace than me . I am always made to feel inferior. I’m so tired of dealing with featurism. It a constant losing battle.

25:45 After hearing her story I would say having a teenager having sexual desires is normal but you can’t prepare them for the same sexual world, since a lot of us do not grow up with the same sexual availability. Honest conversations are needed especially from parents. But a certain sexual experience cannot be expected because based on all factors is the sexual experience is a VERY individual one depending on your sex, gender, look, location and safety All of these factors are going to build different ways of how we will be accepted or even isolated and view the sexual world…. But I don’t think teenagers themselves should just be out here having sex. I know a lot of adults who are arrogant because their young “sex life”

Imo, sexual agency is far more important than sexual liberation. Evidence has shown that sexual decadence (aswell as sexual trauma, nihilism/bodily disassociation & narcissistic personality traits) all leads to paraphilic behaviours. The right to say 'No', to dictate when, how and where you want to engage in sexual activity, is far more important/empowering than solely participating in sexual acts. The practice of *sensuality* (which isn't solely confined to sex) is far more empowering than exchanging bodily fluids with random strangers. The act of communicating your needs, enforcing your boundaries around what sexual acts you will and wouldn't entertain, the type of relationship structure you want, how you want to be treated, cultivating intimacy with self and others, self-pleasuring without being addicted to p0rn, confidence in asking your sexual partner for their STI tests etc - all of this are acts of sexual agency. And I fear that sexual liberation movement objectifies women's bodies - making them an object devoid of humanity. That is not empowering. Such culture also allows predatory behaviour (both in men and women) to go unchecked - encouraging excess and lack of discipline/delayed gratification - all of which are recipe for a dysfunctional life and society.

Yep,Seems so. When I was younger I thought sex was the greatest thing. As I got older I realized that it’s just selfish lust and leads you into things with people that end up wasting a lot of your time. Without it life is so much more peaceful emotionally.

I dont think we are oversexed. I think what we see right now is the repercussions of parenting thay avoided sexual conversations with their children coming back to bite. Eventhough as GenZ we have access to the internet, that allows for us to access loads of information, parents aren't taking the time to have these conversations with their children and so when these children get of age they want answers and go out to find them. My mother had the conversation with me at the first sign when she noticed me becoming sexually mature. Then she realized there's only so much she can do herself and since my relationship with my stepfather isnt sugar and spice, she put me in contact with my uncles who answered all questions I had, with no judgement. This took any mystery out and allowed for me to make better informed decisions on my sexual health. The first time i had sex it was my mother who took me to get tested for the first time before and after the encounter because we have that transparency. As an African this was a luxury i got that many of my peers didn't. I have the same urges and the same access but because i was given a better alternative, that actually was there to help me, I'm fine but many youths can't get the answers at home so they get it online. The issue then arises when that's no longer enough and they take the virtual to the physical world and now we are where we are. I know plenty of people who first found porn for the primary reason of education, or who took misinformation from their peers as valid sexual knowledge, and this is because our parents still don't want to have these conversations because they themselves aren't yet comfortable woth their own sexuality so they fear that of their children. They try restricting internet usage and which circles their children participate in but one way or another misinformation will seep through and when these children grow they start exploring and not in the best ways. Whats happening now has always happened in the course of modern history, the only difference is we dont need to go to clubs or the church basement( dont deny it everybody did😂) we have tinder, hinge, grindr and all those to do just that and so we access them because we had no other option. How many people do we know who were given adequate sexual knowledge about, safe pratices, health and anything pertaining to their sexuality ended up overindulging or beong consumed by their sexuality because they dont yet fully understand it?

9:51 - 9:59, did the Doc with the blue hair just justify people being attracted to children? I reminded it a couple of times, and I’m just trying to see if anyone heard what I did? 😳🤔 Okay, she did- I don’t like that. Her point is valid- but people shouldn’t be attracted to minors. That’s a problem whether they act on it or not.

Kumoyo jumped right over her answer on if she thinks kids should have sex. Instead she decided to share that she started at a young age. She continued to explain her past habits as a sexually curious kid but did not answer that question exactly. From that, she probably would agree that because she started young, then it would be fine for other kids, too. no. That was your mistake so don’t use your parent’s lack of informing you as a child to say it’s acceptable for other kids who may be headed in a similar situation.

Hello, Kumoyo here!Teenagers are having consensual sex with ppl their age parents and caretakers acting like their teenagers aren’t having sex continues the cycle of secrecy which leads to youth getting in potential harm and dangerous situations. My intentions in sharing my story was to show that teenagers are having consensual sex & exploring with their friends ,parents and adults have the responsibility to create safe spaces where teenagers /our youth can talk about their sexual curiosities as well as giving teenagers room/a place without judgment if the face abuse or harm during their sexual encounters..my reason of me sharing my story is because I know that we have a lot of young girls /boys /non binary children or trans teenagers who are in what they consider a relationship with a grown adults and when in that situation it doesn’t seem like it’s abuse until later.

If sex work became completely legal. 18 year olds would get the bulk of money. Because that's what men really want. If a 30 year old could have a different 18 year old every day of the year all's he needed was money there would be onslaught of sex work business booming with women under 21 years old.

I'm 46 years old and all the dating apps I have allows me to set the age from 18 to 29. I prefer 18 to 20....but I don't spend money on women I just go for the women who find me the most attractive. I got a few pounds so I'm the in gym working out to get a six pack again to be more attractive to more 19 year olds.. But if sex work was free. I would go against my morals and switch up and become a trick especially if the prices were set rates.. I would just get a second job to pay for all the festivities. And just have threesomes with two or three 18 year olds every weekend. No need for relationships or even hook ups any more....
