As a football fan people should not underestimate Pep style of football which rely on consistency which really benefit in term of League games than cup competition. Look at Pep's record wherever he has been you gotta beat his team more than 95+ Points. Pep's style of play is so solid that in term of long run you can guarantee your place in either 2nd or 1st definitely. Despite he finished 3rd in his 1st season at City.

I've always said 'City will win the league' but that doesn't mean it hurts any less! We looked second best by a long way, just goes to show just how far behind not only Arsenal are but the rest of the league! Arteta has built a fantastic system that works really well when the first choice 11/12 players (I'm including Trossard here). If any of the midfielders or defenders are absent, it's like a house of cards. And he seems too rigid or stubborn when needing to implement new tactics

City are just too good. We had a good season but in the end it was too much for us. Gutted but proud. It was over when we drew against West ham and Southampton. The boys knew - in the final whistle against Southampton the boys dropped to the ground and I could see it, feel it and believe it. Gutted man.

Three minutes in and agree with all of this except the headline - 'Arteta outclassed'. Considering he wasn't playing with anything like the same pack of cards that Pep plays with, I think it's unfair to make that statement. I'm not saying he's as good a manager as Pep, but you can't make a direct comparison when they're managing 2 different clubs with completely different resources.

There is a blueprint to beat Man City and no one knows it better than Liverpool. They beat City 4 out of 5 times in 2022, and schooled Haaland in 2 games and took the Community Shield off them.

Can't believe teams still go to Etihad thinking they can dictate the game and play their own philosophy. So naive. When you face an in-form City away, you put the press at the halfway line, and your centrebacks 20 metres from goal. You swamp the middle and put a tenacious midfielder on De Bruyne, and hit them on the counter with balls over the top or out wide when they move their CB's up to create overloads. It's football tactics one-oh-one. It may not win you the game, but going there like Arsenal did is begging to lose big.

What I saw last night showed that Arsenal desperately need to get another solid CB option in the summer if they want to compete, because they look like a different team with Saliba out.

Agree with you there Mark. The blueprint was right there and all Arteta needed to do was set his team up to play compact and hit them on the counter. That's exactly what teams do when they show the opposition too much respect, which we did, but for some reason played a system that left us exposed defensively. It completely defies logic and it just baffles me. The players looked completely lost out there. Arteta has done a brilliant job so far, but it was so naive of him to believe this young bunch could go toe to toe with City under these circumstances. Ultimately, the occasion got to them. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes, and so do the players. A season to forget and onto the next one.

Hopefully now people will start to understand how good this liverpool side is under Klopp to compete under that budget and win a title (and get robbed by VAR) for another)

GJ may be playing a great role but the team's sudden drawdown in performance seem to suggest that he is not perfectly compatible with the squad that was winning matches while he was injured; therefore Arteta may have rushed things in putting him in a starting lineup not long after he recovered from injury. Arteta may also want to consider experimenting with starting Saka, Nketiah, Smith Rowe and Reis for an injection of a competitive spirit and moral boost.
