TJQ - Taijiquan is 1st a martial system. Thats what is was designed for and thats how Yang Luchan learned it, secondary benefits of health come with practice. It has become more popular as a system for health because of generations that have no experience with combat. Having some theory helps but not really. You don't have to have a killer / trouble maker mind set in learning the real way. It is only through the understanding as a martial system that you begin to experience what TJQ is really about. No, Don't let big powers get a hold of it, that's what is wrong with it now. The natural flavor is already less than what it should be. We don't want it to become tasteless. Peace
