These hip pain relief stretches are great for helping to relieve general hip pain and hip tightness. The hip stretches are done in real time, so they are easy to follow. Buy a worksheet with these hip stretches: www.askdoctorjo.com/7-hip-str...
In general when stretching the hips, you should hold most stretches for 30 seconds, and do them 3 times. Sometimes you might not have enough time to go through your whole routine, which can be time consuming. If you are in a hurry, still hold the hip stretches for 30 seconds, but do less reps.
Starting off with a 45 second hip warm up will help get your hip muscles loosened up and warm.
A hip flexor stretch, piriformis / glute stretch, and a groin stretch will help loosen up the hip and relieve pain.
The hamstrings and IT band also cross the knee joint, so they are both also important to stretch to not only get hip relief, but also knee and leg relief as well.

I get hip pain because I’m a really active runner and I tend to forget to stretch, but I recently started doing yoga and I did this today as well and felt a lot of relief.

Thank you so much, Doctor Jo! This helped relieve my hip pain literally the first time I did it. I've made it my goal to do these everyday and pair them with some hip strengthening exercises. That IT band stretch was revolutionary - I didn't even know you could stretch that area and yet it feels so good. Keep up the good work and thanks so much once again! :)

Dr. Jo - thank you so much for your videos! It is so empowering that I can learn how to help myself. I tweaked my lower left side of my back/hip and have been in so much pain the last 2 days. These stretches helped SO much, especially that last one! I’ll be adding these into my daily routine for sure!

Thank you so much! I had a nasty pain in my hip due to a walk lasting 2.5 hours the day before, which was made worse by sleeping in an uncomfortable position, but it cleared up almost completely about an hour after doing these stretches, I can’t thank you enough!

your videos have actually been helping me:) i was having bad leg pain and hip pain and to my surprise, this really worked. normally you would search up for help and do random massages that end up not even working for me but these helped!! now i can sleep in peaceeeeeee

I've been having hip pain for weeks now and didn't know what to do to relive the pain or make it go away. 5 min on my floor with a pillow and a belt just drastically turned my night around-- I have had hip pains/aches for years now and I am tired of having to carry pain reliever around and I also generally dont want to have to rely on them for the rest of my life. I am going to start doing this every night and morning and see if my pain subdues. Thanks for the content.

Oh My gods! Thank you so much for this video it has really helped My agonizing hip pain. I was having a really bad day with pain and discomfort until I began doing these stretches. My hip now feels several pounds lighter, and so much of the pain has dissipated. Thank you!

Had a serious pain in my right hip because of my lack of stretching. Which is so bad on my part because of my athletic background. These stretches helped me fix it asap! I thought I seriously was considering the E.R. before I tried this. Thank you Dr. Jo!!

I was in so much pain on my left hip, I was in tears that’s how bad it was. I took Tylenol and Motrin noting helped. I did this video and I had instant relief I felt almost high lol. I hadn’t slept for days and this has provided me exactly what I needed thank you very much!!! ❤️ I am a dental assistant and the repetitive motions we do can cause pain but they are no match for these stretches.

Thank you so much I didn't have any stretchy bands so I literally used a bicycle tire tube lol It worked just the same and oh my god pain was instantly gone

The pain would come and go, then come more often. Then yesterday, I could barely walk more than 10 or 12 feet. I knew the problem was muscular, but I couldn't figure out how to stretch or even identify the muscles causing the pain. Got it now, and I'll get it loosened up. Thanks Doc!
