Excellent video again Joe. Well done. My missus ask my once when my friend parked his brand new audi s3 outside why not audi s3/rs3. (I own bmw 135i) I sat in audi and I loved that car. Sound of that engine is amazing. So I said to her that I will explain that like man to man will do. Audi is amazing car in every single way like most beautiful and amazing supermodel on the world and I would love to live with her happily. On the another way bmw 135i is like amazing perfect pornstar. Bmw is amazing and more fun. She totally understood why my bmw is parked outside of our house.

Great review, and very useful since most people who want a sports car either look at M135/M140i's or RS3's or A45 AMG's. This will make their choice easier

Entertaining viewing Joe. I love my m135 but if I had of had the extra cash I would have bought the rs3. That engine sounds amazing and I would have purchased the car just for that reason alone. But hay nothing wrong with a BMW straight six and rear wheel drive!

Arise Chris Harris the 2nd!! Weird seeing this. My journey started with a test drive of the RS3, then the CH vid, then your vids. Price and your vids took me from RS3 thoughts to order an M140i. Now you're driving what started it all off for me. It was one of these RS3's exhaust note on tickover in a car park that made me ditch my RR !!! Awesome Joe !!

I just picked up an ex demonstrator AMG A45 for £37k. Very pleased with it. Not as raucous as my old 135i Coupe but oh so quick. Plus the quality.

Hi Joe, I will tell you why i bought an A45 over this if you like. Just come off 3 years of Audi ownership had a very well sorted S3 8p Sportback with over 10k in mods. I said to myself my next car had to be sorted out of the box. i have spent far too much down the years on improving my cars and it needed to stop. I seriously looked at the Rs3. Seriously. First was the price, i have nearly a full spec A45 (49k) bought as an ex demo with 160 miles for 42.2k. A low milage RS3 in the same spec was the wrong side of 56k, i could not justify the price hike and the salesman was, tbh a wanker. The RS3 was a little bit quicker or felt quicker, but not by much. I think it has a bit more low down, it sounded fantastic and has a very well built interior ( bit minimalist for me ) but, quality without doubt. However the Mercedes was better in a few key areas for me. Steering is better buy quite a bit, lovely weight, more feedback and sharper turn in. The wheel itself i prefer, nice and chunky its the one out of the SLS i think, with the alcantara in the right place. Seating postion is better, as are the seats ( by allot) and the brake's are on another level. The Rs3 squirms all over the place under heavy braking where the 45 does not. Like there's to much front bias which may be down to the 310mm rear disc. The 45 uses 330 at the rear. The car i drove did not have the adjustable damping but seemed to crash over imperfections in the road. The 45 with Amg ride control is sublime imo ( probably not a fair comparison but i though i would mention, my s3 was the same. ) RS3 is a quality car and easier to live with I'm sure, but is a bit of a 1 trick pony rapid in a straight line not so good under braking and corners. The 45 has more of a focused personality which i like, looks more aggressive with aero kit and If i want to do the odd track day would be a much better choice imho. It just feels like more of an event to drive. Don't get me wrong i like the Rs3, but for now A45 sits better with me. Its my first Mercedes so i would not class myself as a fanboy ethier. Both great cars, but i guess its all subjective. :-)

There is no comparison between this and the RS focus, if you want quality the Audi wins by a country mile.I personally think the interior of the ford is abysmal, think it was designed by a six year old! Great review Joe, nice one. cheers

I test drove one some time ago, yes it's quick but it felt underwhelming and a little life less. The star is definitely the 5 pot engine. it's so easy to the drive the car fast and I think it doesn't really challenge you, It's as if the car wants to be the star of the show and not you.

I've driven quite a few Audi models (all none-rs) over the last two years and they are indeed superb cars. However I can't help but feel disappointed about the steering feel in every single Audi model that I drive. Is the steering rack in this one any better than the ones found in the normal A models and how would you rate it compared to the Focus rs?

Great video again! I'm currently looking for a new car and have tested an M240i but waiting on an S3 at my local audi to take that out. Any thoughts between those two? Would be my only vehicle, otherwise I'd probably stump up the extra and go for the M2!!

liked the video but to me this is more rs3 impressions rather than a review. I already know it's a practical 4wd that you can use for family duties but I am no better informed what it's like to drive. I appreciate that it's not your car and the conditions were cold and greasy but more corners and views of the road are needed, describing of the dynamics, how the car feels and how it makes you feel. can I suggest you do some of these reviews without the owner or anyone else in the car so you can form your own opinion. this is kinda like to mates talking about how cool his new car is and because he's doing you a favour letting you drive his car your not going to be brutally honest about the bad bits of the car. That would be my constructive criticisms and what I would be looking for. Love your videos and keep up the good work. I have a m240i on order so have enjoyed many of your B58 related videos. I also had an m2 on order but decided it wasn't worth the extra money and the m240 does what I want it to anyway.

Excellent review. I disagree with most of it though... haha. Really horrible looks but the saloon will soon address that. Handling is an understearfest but the sound, it is to die for! Keep up the good work. 👍

My only issue with the Haldex Quattro system is that it is massively front wheel drive biased and can only shift a maximum of 50% of the power to the rear wheels hence why they're renowned for understeer. I don't know about the A45's four wheel drive system but BMW's xDrive is much better at shifting the power between axles, managing nearly 100% to the rear if need be.Having said that the RS3 is still a fantastic piece of engineering and to me, as an all-rounder beats the likes of the A45 and M140i

Those seats are Super Sport seats and not Bucket seats. Buckets were not available on that generation of RS3.

Great review Joe, not really an Audi fan as a previous BMW 130 owner but understand and appreciate the rs3, if a little expensive. If there was a car with BMW dynamics and Audi interiors that would be perfect!

It's hard to give an honest opinion when the owner is sitting next to you. The RS3 is just a numb tool for drivers who can't really drive. As for the RS6 comments. LOL. Nobody is going to take the RS3 over the RS6 and the RS3 won't touch the RS6. It's only got another 240bhp.

I'd take the A45 AMG every time. 50k is ridiculous for such a boring looking car however good the engine may be.

A45 sounds like a awful hair dryer, actually prefer a hair dryer!!!
