Great test, both good mic options, the at2020 is noticably sharper im the high end and kind of hurts at points. Nt1a has less of that problem

You're right, that's a good idea. I think they are great for different things. I like the NT1 A for acoustic guitars and vocals in a solo setting. I prefer the at2020 for acoustics and/or vocals in a more dense mix like rock or hip hop. Cheers!

You reminded me of Brad Paisley. You sang and played so well I found it a bit distracting to really focus on the differences between the mics. They sound very similar even on decent headphones. Seems to be a bit more clarity and lows on the Rode. A bit of distortion and presence boost on the AT. But too subtle to really cause problems. Overall very similar. Great singing

If I could go back in time I would buy the rode nt1 (the black one) instead of the nt1A. Either one will suffice. Cheers!

The rode is good for deeper vocals and the audiotechnica for brighter guitar. Am i WRONG?

I prefer the rode for acoustic guitars and vocals for acoustic music. I prefer the at2020 for vocals on hip hop, rock or acoustics that are in a dense mix.

I have the nt1-a and the at2020 and I have to say the rode nt1a is absolutely amazing and a lot better in my opinion compared to the at2020 I literally just got it and I can see a huge difference so I recommend the rode nt1a but do your research on the two I have done the same

@@zamir868 I would say the black one would be slightly better but the nt1-a is still a great microphone for the prices it’s all up to you just watch videos so you know what your looking for in a mic
