If this vehicle has no Mot it is not insured as far as I know as having insurance keeping up maintenance and certificate is one of the main things that is required. The driver should get 6 points if that is the case as the driver of the vehicle is responsible for at point of driving.

I'm from New Zealand, you will never see vans like that from any company, with that rust you cant get a WOF (Warrant of fitness) and no WOF means you cant get a REGO (Road use license). Using a vehicle without either will get fines issued to the company and/or driver depending on who is issuing them. Traffic management will ticket them for being on yellow lines just like that. If someone walked by and got scraped by the rust, and goes to the doctor with it, it's an ACC (Accident compensation corporation) injury, and ACC raises the company levies (a mile).

If we had such a condition van or car, would some newly trained law designer jump out within minutes and book us? This has been on the road months, years on the road. Money corrupts the rich to rule the poor.

Date of first registration - May 2008 The DVLA have NO MOT Details on file but the Gov says it passed one in April. Chances are they maintain them privately and this should be reported as it clearly isn't being maintained, they could lose their Service licence.

To be fair the van could be fitted with a card lock. You need to swipe a card across it to be able to start it, the ignition won't work without. They're just like what you would find on security doors. The doors appear to be permanently locked, judging by the massive metal plate over the door handles. I'm guessing the only access to the vehicle is by the rear doors, which only the driver has access to with the key he uses to get in, so in all honesty I can't really fault the guy for leaving the keys in the ignition. But the state of that van is an absolute joke. If that were you or me driving around in that the police would have a field day!

It's taxed, MOT'd and insured, but that corrosion is very bad! I'm guessing there might be a a problem with the ignition switch or immobiliser in the key, which is probably why they're left in the ignition. I doubt you'd be able to get into the vehicle anyway, they're armoured, and the driver has other keys to get into it.

WTH? Are you not allowed to leave your keys in the ignition in the UK? It's a dumb idea to do, but its an offense? In New Zealand, we would call that a self-generation deterrent, when you do it, and if someone stole it, you don't have the car. Fine enough! * To be real, we are not perfect in NZ, it might get stolen, but if left in the door say, your just as likely to get someone knocking on your door to let you know, or just pulling them out popping them on the floor in the car out of sight and closing the door.

The access to the van can be through the back , he has an A key which opens the back only , the doors are locked either side , so the only access is through the back door , 😜good one that keep it up 👍

It's illegal to leave the vehicle with engine running but the engine was switched off. Looks like the keys to open the vehicle are different to the ignition key. The police generally allow the cash carry vans to park as close as they can to the collection/delivery point. The vehicle was battered but the rust had not gone through the body, tyres are OK so it would be OK to be on the road. The driver will probably lose his job now.

Absolutely incredible to see a security van in such a state in Germany. Our TÜV , in Britain known as MOT wouldn't either give a valid stamp nor would German police ignore that apparently unsafe vehicle. The fact the driver is using that sprinter says a lot about working conditions of that company and the state the UK is in.

Thats just as bad an advert for Mercedes as it is for g4s,the van maybe 13 years old but the bodywork should have held up much better than that. If Michael Caine saw that van he would wish it was the one he robbed in the Italian Job,he would only need to peel back the rotten bodywork,reach in and grab the cash instead of having to blow the bloody doors off.

To be fair those keys were perfectly safe left in the ignition, the driver can enter the cab via a door at the back. If you tried breaking a window to get those keys you’d still be there a hour later.

I think G4s might go bust. The started as a private ltd, then went to a public ltd (PLC) but now are private again. They also have a long list of sub-companies that have either been dissolved or gone into liquidation.

A company vehicle should be kept in a safe road worthy condition, however the first driver is responsible for doing a walk around vehicle check to ensure the vehicle is in a safe condition before leaving the depot, as it's his responsibility whilst he in charge and any defects found would could be on driver's licence if it's in a unroadworthy condition,

I personally think you are a nightmare, what business is it of yours to record a man doing his work, regardless of leaving the keys in the ignition or not, it’s an armoured vehicle with slam locks and dead locks meaning no one can force their way into it without standing there with the correct equipment to get into it, windows can’t be smashed, doors can’t be pried and so on. The van is a 5 ton van which is mot exempt, subject to a mandatory 6 week recorded check, meaning anything picked up on is sorted there and then, as for the rust, it’s a 15 year old van which is out working every day, regardless whether you think it’s dangerous or not, it’s not, it’s not structural so even on an mot it couldn’t be failed, there’s nothing in the manual to tell a tester that that needs failing due to corrosion
