Growing up In St Kilda in the 70's we would only ever go to Elwood beach. St Kilda beach was never very nice. Seems it still isn't

This is literally peak Current Affair.. in 7 years in Melbourne & of regularly going to St Kilda i never saw stuff like this.. sure stuff did happen on occasion, but this makes it out like it's a constant everyday thing.. Sure, i saw funny goings-on, and people drink on the beach (name one beach where a liquor ban works without over-policing) .. ive even had a sneaky little line myself at night on occasion. But all in all nothing different to what goes on at literally any other popular city beach.. Thursday night drumming circles were the best, have been happening for 15 years, and we made no trouble, & the cops let us do our thing because of that. Of course, there were bogans here and there, but lots of the people at St Kilda beach are backpackers.. the Backpacker's pre-Christmas parties were knocked on the head for obvs reasons & they were disrespectful, but overwhelmingly the vast majority of people on the beach the vast majority of times in all 7 years I went there were well behaved.. Compare the general beach behaviour to any normal sat night outside any busy sports-bar, with drunken yobbos stumbling, fighting & vomiting, & the beach is nothing in comparison... & If it has been a little more out of control recently then that is 100% due to people going out of their mind with no places to go out to have fun & to & blow off steam after the long lockdown.. This is just another eg of overdramatization by Current Affair, who supply sensationalism in never-ending supply for their hungry, judgemental, & easily manipulated boomer audience..
