Precious, I am 65 years old. I have severe meltdowns almost everyday. I have COMPLEX PTSD and severe Depression. When I watch you with Mikko a deep sadness comes over me because my so called mother was so Narcissistic I was NEVER cared for. You are a great Mother.

I am so sorry to hear about your experiences at the hand of someone who was supposed to be there for you. Have you considered getting an emotional support animal? I had a friend in college with PTSD who got a service dog and it helped her mood so much.

Thank you for addressing this! Too often i see people dismiss meltdowns as tantrums (frustratingly). But it is also SO important to recognise how a tantrum can result in a meltdown. It may have been initiated due to trying to get her way, but the overwhelm she experienced as a result of the tantrum was very real and needed the attention you gave her. Love to see how you care for her. She'll do well with parents like you ❤
@cc_xero4 ай бұрын
Side note: her way of self soothing - sucking her thumb and twirling her hair - are both things I did as a child (and still do). It's kind of fascinating to see this moment and see my younger self. Unfortunately, I wasn't raised in an ideal or supportive environment, and at 30 years old I am still without an autism diagnosis. But things like this reinforce what all of my research and introspection have shown me. Clear signs of autism. Unlike Mikko, I was hyperverbal but I definitely relate to her and the content you share in lots of other ways Thank you for sharing, it means a lot for people like me, and I'm sure it's a great deal of help for other parents who are experiencing similar things. You show them positive ways of managing these traits and the thought that someone may come across your videos and discover a healthier and more gentle approach to their own neurodivergent child absolutely warms my heart ❤

Aaawww.... I felt it when Mikko could barely catch her breath for crying. All because she couldn't eat chalk! The dramatic emotions of a little one.❤ The video content is amazing. Showing Mikko literally squealing, happy and 'distracted' by bubbles at the end was so sweet and made me laugh!😂

My 10 year old was diagnosed at age 4 for ASD & ADHD. I had to call crisis prevention at age 5 for repeatedly hitting his head against the concrete walkway, walls, floors etc. I got him into a private school with the help of our school district. The changes I have seen in him are unbelievable. Diet change was a must in his case. Food dyes would send him into massive meltdowns. He hasn’t had a meltdown since he was 7 years old. Knows how to express himself appropriately without harming himself or others. Oh the bruises I use to wear were never ending. There was a time I was terrified for his future & now I’m excited. Blessings and love to you. @TheGentleLife With the love and guidance of a supportive family she will grow to become an exceptional young woman. My son refers to his autism as his superpower. ❤

@@justhereforthevideos2798 It’s one of the scariest situations a parent could face, the uncertainty of their child’s future. Doctors fail to tell us that with many cases diet plays an enormous role in their behavior. We wear him out too. He gets agitated if we don’t stick to a schedule so we try to keep him busy and channel some of that nervous energy into positive actions. I really glad I was able to give you at least some peace of mind. ❤️

@@blacknwhitejuly I know it doesn’t always feel like it but you’re helping your child more than you could ever realize. I had family members suggest I put my son in a group home at one point. You will get through this. The first 5 years were our most difficult. The older the get, the better they learn to communicate & express themselves. I know how horrible it feels to have those bruises, scratches & lumps cause by an upset child. Use every resource available to you through your state, there are many. ❤️ Hugs and prayers to you. Edit: You’re all your child knows & asd children can’t separate their closest parent from theirselves, we’re an extension of them. We take a huge brunt of their burden. ❤️

I’m in my 30s and still have meltdowns. I learned at a young age how to hide them so most of them are internal meltdowns and not really noticeable. It’s so nice to see you helping her learn how to regulate through these meltdowns at such a young age instead of making her figure out how to hide them. Admittedly, hiding them has come in handy in my adult life, but I think it would have been an easier task to learn self-regulation in childhood and THEN how to hide it or hold it in until I’m alone (another thing I learned from self preservation. But my form of ASD makes it difficult to process my emotions, so I often mask and mirror others in the moment, and later, when I’m alone, I’ll think about how I actually felt.)
