Aveda Brilliant Damage Control is an oldie but a super goodie. I break down why everyone and their mother can use this product, and I make some funny faces.

Hey Deron, I realize I’m sending this message 2 years after this was uploaded, but you seem to know what you’re talking about and you have hair similar to my own. Great video and thanks for talking about Aveda products. It was my go to for all of the 90s and into the 2000s. It has a really nice clean smell too best of all. In more recent years however I used L’Oreal Elevation Volumizing Texture serum. It was awesome for my hair type and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. Light hold, a little shine and volume. I have fine blonde hair much like yours. They stopped making this product about two years ago however. I bought three $$ bottles off of eBay and I just now ran out! I need a replacement but I’m spending a fortune trying this and that to no avail! I’m thinking about going back to Aveda, but I’m not sure whether I need the gel or this product you’re talking about? The L’Oreal was something in between to be honest Elevation was a very liquidy gel and it was just a little sticky but not crazy. Can you recommend anything similar… Aveda or not Aveda? Many many thanks man! I just became a subscriber too! Much appreciated!

Hey there! Thanks for the kind words and for the sub! This one has super light hold, it sounds like you might prefer Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic 😊

I am the person who HATES product in her hair. Don't even like conditioner. (and i have curly hair, so as you can imagine, I'm a mess). I was wondering which Aveda prep product to get, since I want to start heat styling and taking care of my hair, and this perfectly describes this product. Thank you!

Hey, thank you for the great information on Aveda product, and tutorials. I just wanted to let you know that the music that you edited in between is extremely loud and your voice is very quiet comparatively. Thanks again!

I was wondering what is the difference between this one and the heat relief ,I am a bit confused and don’t know which one to buy !

Great question! Brilliant Damage Control is intended to go on damp hair root to end on wash days before detangling and blow drying. It’s has some slight hold and shine so it’s helpful for volume. Heat Relief is intended to refresh and condition your mids and ends on non wash days (spray on your hair dry) It has stronger heat protection than Damage Control, and probably shouldn’t go on your roots. If your ends get fuzzy it helps tame them, but that same action on your roots could make them look oily. I love both of these for what they are, but you might find heat relief a bit more versatile, since you could probably use it on damp hair as well 😊

Hey! I love your videos...Aveda does not get enough love on KZfaq. What do you recommend for extremely fine curly hair? Almost like the texture of a child's hair lol I used to care a lot about definition and hold (I was afraid of frizz), but now realize the frizz gives me extra volume that I want. Is it okay to just spray this in and air dry? Or what about Brilliant hair spray?

Is this also a leave in conditioner or should I find a leave in conditioner and use this for its other purposes

I own this product I love it but I'm trying to figure out if it's a leave in condiotner as well, because I have low prosity hair and so water and such does not hold in my hair as long so a leave in condtioner is very important after I wash my hair

I would say this helps detangle, but it is minimal on the conditioning, I would look for something creamier for that

Hello. Will this product work to protect from hot tools heat?
@DeronEdward
@DeronEdward Жыл бұрын
It does! Although it’s best suited for blowdry heat protection, if you are using flat or curling iron you might want a different option light the nutriplenish leave in conditioner
