I'd say the biggest mistake I see in general is that people just slap some standard long type of runs in their conditioning training and call it a day. Running 2/3x a week in z2 is nice, but it won't really have any great overall effects. If you want to do the conditioning in your training, add it in properly: do your typical Norwegian split of 80/20, or at least once a week add a VO2Max session in your conditioning. In that same sense: get measured out, running in what you think is zone 2 because your apple watch has guessed it does absolutely nothing for people. Get measured out so you know what you're actually training.
