This is a comparison of the axial scx24 deadbolt vs Kyosho mini z 4x4 on my mini crawler course.

When buying a mini Z, the jeep model mini z 4x4 has a better set up for rock crawling. The Land Cruiser was kyosho first model in the mini z series. Kyosho mini Z improved the mini Z series and built the bad boy jeep Rubicon with a better wheelbase set up that doesn’t flip over all the time. plus it looks better. I like your little rock crawler course manager good job. Looks like I might need to do that, thanks for the inspiration💪😜

Put limit straps on it i use rubber bands and it works great with double barrel shocks still have all the articulation without flipping backwards

Where did you get your wheels and tires ?? On the deadbolt?

I got the wheels and tires on eBay, they are RC4WD steel bees lock wheels 😄👍🏻

I'm looking to get an scx24 for my first scale crawler. I have a chance to get either a deadbolt or betty. Which one is a better buy? Though price is about $190 for the betty, and $160 for the deadbolt.

Its hard for me to say one way or the other but for crawling purposes the deadbolt will be the best option, the Betty body can rub when flexing over obstacles and the deadbolt has a rock crawler look and large wheel wells, but the Betty is also a limited edition run from axial so getting one would be pretty cool!

@@microrcdiaries9648 if i was in your shoes I would get the deadbolt, cheaper investment to start and more capable, if you love it then save up and get the Betty as well :)

My stock servo went bad 20 min of run time two esc have went out with 4-5 hours on them

The Kysoho appears to be a different scale than the SCX24 maybe 1/28 or so. Not sure the Kyosho would work well on my track.

I believe it’s listed as a 1/24 but I agree it seems to be smaller like a 1/28th 😄

I think the mini z jeep has more potential, bigger fenders for bigger tires w/o the rubbing and increased offset with the hex adaptor for rc4wd wheels. When it comes to looks, the 4runner nails it but performance wise, well, it's obvious.

Are there aftermarket dampened oil shocks for any of these?

I don’t know if there are any sealed oil dampened shocks available but on my SCX24 I did put some grease in the shocks to make it more of a fluid movement instead of being so bouncy
