Hi friends
Just a little observation, although most of my videos were presented in Cantonese, 85% of the comments and feedbacks I garnered were written in English. I can only conclude that a big percentage of my viewers are more English educated. Strangely enough they preferred my Cantonese delivery more than Mandarin or even English. Of course being a KZfaqr I’d try the best possible way to attract the most viewers, hence I had to experiment with different dialects and languages for the best results. In fact I was even thinking of doing this episode in Bahasa since it’s relevant to the dish I’ll be featuring. Somehow when I tried writing the script I discovered how rusty my Bahasa was, this means I’d have to take twice the time to succeed. Therefore it’ll be Cantonese for now and perhaps the future too.
Meanwhile please go out and support the local street food. Thanks and catch you in the next.

Hello, I believe we all enjoy Mr Elmo Lee channel very much. But i would like to voice up something about this friend "ltz888". I guess this person named "ltz888" who comments in this channel is very sensitive topic, it might not acceptable by all our fellow Malaysian. Try not to ruined this beautiful foods channel. Its just my opinion. Thank you.

Thanks janni I've explained many time that I was actually being sarcastic taking a swipe at the authorities for leaving us so far behind after 40 years. Guess u didn't read between the lines when I said my dad would hv changed his mind if he was alive today. Our currency is a joke now and not to mention the ban on 4D, alcohol and the durian exploitation etc. Certain u can feel it

Uncle Elmo, your Dad was a wise man. My parents are stuck in the West and really want to return, they regret staying here for so long. They never really enjoyed it as the food is awful lol, and things are going downhill. I hope to return to Malaysia with them and carry on with my career in Asia. I believe we are at the foot of the Asian century. Despite some political turmoil, I hope Malaysia can get through it all by trading and being friendly with her neighbours, Malaysia boleh! Also another great foodie video, thank you!

Malaysia is really a melting pot of cultures- just look at the food menu in a Malaysian restaurant overseas. Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai, Nyonya are all included. and we are so proud of it. i Iam happy we called it roti canai - then I know its from Malaysia. Great video- I like my roti telur with bawang and chilli padi. On a wrong day it will catch fire in your mouth.

Another nice vlog. Actually, as far as I know, only in Malaysia is it called - Roti Canai, everywhere else it's Paratha, even in India. Seems according to wiki, it originated in Karnataka, South India. I thought Restaurant kayu will be on the list, the food there is generally good but the prices are real cut throat. Rice with veg and mutton cost me RM$35!!! Oops, you got it there, I didn't know they had a branch in USJ.

My Cantonese is so so only but you use Gong Fu wa instead of Gong Dong wa so it is very easy to understand even without looking at the subtitles. I do hope that you continue to use Cantonese as it is the content hardest to find on YT. Malaysia is still the best country to live in and if you aren't a political person and listen to the poisonous words from politicians, you will find that Malaysians are very harmonious and united IMO. Sure some countries may be better in certain things but as a whole package, you can't beat Malaysia.

good day uncle Elmo, i have eaten roti canai in many places here in PJ. In my humble opinion, Ratha and Raju's (bkt gasing) is the best. My only gripe with Ratha is the RM3 surcharge for extra dhal take away. On your next trip to Ratha, do try out their Mysore Uttapam. A lil costly (RM5+) but worth every cent. Previously, I am was never a big fan of roti canai but instead prefer masala thosai and rawa thosai.

@@malaysiafood328 but maybe not move to Australia. Places like China and Singapore have good opportunities and it is safe for Chinese people. Australian Chinese face exponential hate crime and their economy is tanking, plus it is a settler state. Watch John Pilger's 'Utopia' on KZfaq if you want to see real Australia. I heard that some Malaysians went to visit their friends in Australia only to be disappointed at how backwards it has become, even 'little' Malaysia has way newer infrastructure than Australia and UK. @@HH-xy8lc I already live in the West. I also know Chinese people in Australia who are wanting to return to China, especially if things continue going downhill. I don't want the opportunity to live in Australia at all. You are burying your own head in the sand about the problems in the West, but if that makes you happy, good for you. Good luck to you in next 30 years!

Why so defensive? I only served facts. I am positive about the rise of the East including Malaysia, and that we are going towards a multipolar world. But it seems Western countries want to be negative about it, not me. Maybe you're lucky not to have been beaten up, hate crimed and had racism thrown at you at work whilst living in the West. At least in Malaysia, people don't tend to beat each other up en masse. Chinese facing 1700% increase in hate crime in Vancouver, and many other Western countries, and you turn a blind eye to that? Please say where I said lies about Australia or the West. I am being realistic. Up to you if you want to bury your own head in the sand. Prove that I'm wrong or please be quiet and get on with your own fabulous life in Australia.

I disagree, the 2nd citizen mentality is what malaysian made up to keep you from leaving, Permanent Resident in Australia enjoy same benefits as citizens except i can't vote. I received home buyer money grant for my first home. free health care. also, receive government cash money for my first and second baby born. when my children broke arms and hospitalized, the hospital was first class and looked after by so many specialist doctors. i was amazed when discharge I simply pack our stuff and walk out. no payment is needed. they now attend free primary and high school. and for university my children can apply to ANY uni as long they have enough scores. unlike the quota system in Malaysia, or STMP pathway to discourage non-Bumi. or can't apply to MARA as it is exclusive to Bumi only. ANY uni as long you are capable. Here my children can receive student loans interest-free. they also can receive government living allowance, which is reserved for Bumi only in Malaysia. As a citizen in Malaysia you don't even qualify for any of that. As Asians in Australia, we are highly regarded as we have a high working ethic, no issues finding high-level job. Malaysia is good, but sometimes the grass is greener is true. in Australia i can most of these food in shops, albeit it is much more expensive. and not as tasty as in Malaysia.

Read between the lines Darren I was actually taking a swipe at the authorities leaving so far behind. The migration part was just an excuse to get the topic started. U obviously didn't catch the part when said what would my dad react now if he's alive today

Guess back in the 80s, people still have hope our currency will one day strengthen against other countries especially our neighbors. Unfortunately, with BN continue in the office, BN has equate the ringgit to something of toilet paper. There's no more value in ringgit. Even comparing with Thai Baht, we're like their 3rd world country. With BN in the office, we will only go to the dumps.
