Ugh! Finally a podcast/bachelor related commentary that isnt just worshipping madison for no reason!! Thank god theres sane people in this world! I love this podcast!

Something I just realized. I was very much for Mike becoming the Bachelor. Although Peter was cute, I remember thinking but I don't really know who Peter is except for the fact that he is a pilot and close to his family. I remember thinking Tyler has shared about himself Mike has shared about previous relationships and pain of a miscarriage, but throughout the whole Bachelorette season we never really saw who Peter was. But I guess I was charmed by his cuteness, seemingly innocence and supportive family. Now that I think about the Bachelor season, I realize, I still have no idea, other than he is a pilot, loves his family, very physical and additionally now that he is indecisive. Its really ridiculous because so many people make joke like Mike would have been different. But seriously, Mike would have given us so much more depth. We saw that at least during Hannah season. He would probably also have made mistakes but at least we have a sense about who he is and what he values.

I love Hannah Ann. Personally I agree with Barb, NOT HER DELIVERY, but with her saying Madison and Peter won’t work out. I think Madison should run. Peter doesn’t need to be in any relationship. He needs to move out of his house, work on himself and mature. In addition, Chris Harrison made this finale into the Barb show and not a season finale. He should have left the family out of it. Only people he needed to talk to were Hannah Ann, Peter and Madison. Shame on him and the network. I’m in agreement with you Bekah, I am not with the entire country. People have missed the point Barb was trying to make.

It was the most eloquent breakup from Hannah Ann I've ever heard. Not even in movies was it ever that good. I was replaying all my breakups in my life wishing I could 'Hannah Ann' them a little more lol.

I went from being indifferent to Hannah Ann to respecting the hell out of her for the way she handled Peter. She was so much more articulate than what we saw all season! On the flip side, I went from liking Madi to being pretty annoyed by her insistence that she was holding true to her “standards” while simultaneously going back on the very thing she was supposed to stay strong on.

Peter was so disappointing, in Hannah Ann's words...you need to become a man!! Loved Hannah Ann, she was boss!! Not a fan of Madison, I feel she contradicts her words and actions! OMG, Barb's reaction to the engagement to Hannah...Hilarious!!! Seeing how much she loved Hannah, I can see how she felt let down with the break-up...Madi & Hannah are polar opposites~

All Barb had to say was "I'm sorry Maddison but Hannah Ann was just so genuine and real...and you weren't" and everybody would have died and Barb would be Queen.

So spot on about Barb, refreshing to hear it put that way.

I wish people would recall Arie wanted Lauren but he discussed that she was slow to open up and she was more reserved, so then his family liked B.K. better and it poorly influenced what happened. Same thing happened here... I genuinely think families getting involved muddied the waters for sooo many people within the franchise. Look at Cassie and Colton too... Thankfully Colton had more conviction in his desires, he and Cassie seem genuinely happy. Same for Arie and Lauren. The reality is our family's opinions only matter to a point. People have to be true to their gut feelings and let it play out without relying on their family meeting the person for an hour. Now Barb has totally done her family a disservice by not being supportive and kind ,making them all look really bad. It puts Peter and Madi in a terrible position. PSA: Keep your eye rolling at home. And never, ever be an "I told you so." parent. Its a dick move.

Am I the only one that really didn’t like Madison?!

I have a theory that Peter and Madi aren’t even together, and that this whole reunion was just a way for the season to end with a successful relationship. I mean, I don’t understand why he didn’t visit her, ALL bachelor contestants get the chance to see their s/o after the show. Also they still seemed awkward and hesitant around each other, which just DOESN’T happen when you’ve been talking for months!! Sorry, I don’t buy it.

I just think peter doesn’t know the difference between love and infatuation

The reason why I think it was so hard for peter to make decisions on his own is mainly because his mom has been telling him what he SHOULD do his whole life. He listens to her out of fear of her wrath! So he’ hasn’t had enough experiences in life making major decisions on his own and dealing with the positive or negative outcome of those decisions. He doesn’t have his own gut feelings to lead him. If that makes sense

Hannah B went to Jupiter for Andrea Cameron's celebration of life. She ofcourse stayed longer and hanged out with Tyler and his close friends. I think that speaks volumes to the love and respect they still have for one another. Andrea was also a big support of Hannah B. I think it's also important to say that he also allowed her to be apart of that and also allowed her to spend time with his best friends. Even if this is just a friendship, I think it's nice that she could support him with something that is so heartbreaking, like the lose of his mother. And in her season, his family was so important.

My question is: WHAT IS MADISON'S FAMILY THINKING AND WHAT IS HANNAH ANNE'S FATHER THINKING AFTER HE GAVE BLESSINGS AND A WARNING?

We need to be honest, Peter was in a tough situation and he handled it badly. But given what Barb did, I can see why he has poor decision making skills. He equates attraction, emotional intimacy and drama to passionate love, but commitment seems too abstract for him because he doesn't understand himself outside of his bubble. Madi, is so young and in her own bubble, she handled herself well given the situation but she is confusing his ending his engagement as an act of love for her because Chris Harrison manipulatively presented it that way. And I think Peter cared for both women, but it was too confusing having his whole family be against the person he actively wanted to fight for... I think anyone could fall in love with Hannah Anne, she was always "perfect"; so loving and giving, I think he desperately didn't want to hurt her but he needed to, as she said, respect her enough to be fully honest about what happened with Madi... I wish everyone well, don't think anyone was ill intended but also don't think any of them should be getting engaged or married.

LOVE your podcast! Thank you!! You broads sing my song about how Maddie handled the whole situation during this episode-yes barb could’ve handled things better in certain respects. But I was like WHY are people applauding “it is what it is”. I don’t know if it’s because people tend to knee jerk applaud seemingly strong women moments-when women hold their ground and put their foot down. But there’s a difference between being strong and mature, and just being stubborn and lacking humility. Especially if you intend to pursue a relationship with a man who clearly has a close relationship with his family, why does it have to be “me against them”? Open the dialogue with humility (doesn’t religion teach about that?) and you can disarm a lot more effectively that way. This sets a bad dynamic from the start. Not justifying barb but I feel like people are completely villainizing her while jumping on the Maddie bandwagon, when in actuality the situation is a lot more complex than that. Also Maddie continues to sound like a broken record that “it’s her journey” and she stood by her “standards,” and “doesn’t want to be shamed by said standards”. If you’re going to harp constantly about your standards and being proud of your standards and upholding your standards, then uphold them. But it’s all confusing and mixed/unclear messages through their actions. There is no proper communication whatsoever among all parties involved. Also Hannah Ann killed it, but that goes without saying!

I'm not sure how Peter's family haven't realized that they're part of the reason the beginning of their relationship isn't going smoothly.

I rewatched it to see your observations on Barb, Madison and Peter’s section. I did notice the first time how far apart Peter and Madison sat and second time around I noticed Hannah Ann sat closer to Peter than Madison did...

The situation with Peter's parents and Madison will always remain unresolved, because Peter only knows how to operate in tumultuous relationships. He has no concept of healthy boundaries. Take Peter's parents out the equation, his inability to stay engaged to Hannah Ann and how he could not fully commit to Madi during the last episode says it all. If you go back and look at Madi's reaction, when Chris asked Peter if him and Madi are willing to give their relationship a shot and he hesitated and said they would have to take day by day without giving a concrete answer was Peter doing what he does best and offers up a mindf*ck to Madi on a silver platter. Also, Barb and Madi are too prideful to ever put their differences aside and Peter clearly has commitment issues. None of it is worth it.

This episode is mindblowing to watch in December 2020. Man, if we had only known how crazy the pandemic was going to get😳

I don’t think Barb handles her emotions well, especially on national television. She’s overly emotional and erratic. However i don’t get why everyone just brushes Madison under the rug. Madison didn’t chase after Peter. Peter didn’t chase after Madison. They literally only even “got together” because Chris Harrison got involved? Like are we kidding? Also why are we dismissing the fact that Madison DIDNT hold true to her word. I have always liked Hannah Ann, I'm sorta feeling some type of way that people just now are getting on her side, when shes been beautiful, unproblematic, and real throughout the whole season. Also..... I dont get peoples anger with Barb. She was right, maybe she was a bit harsh, but I just dont see how you can root for two people who clearly ARENT compatible. And Hence (now they split) she def must've seen moments of Madison that none of us saw that made Barb not like her.

I wonder what the out come would’ve been on Hannah’s season if after Jed cheated on her, Chris went to Tyler & did what he did to Madison and hyped him up to go and surprise Hannah with him saying “I still love you and I want to be with you”. I wonder what that after the final rose would’ve looked like or if they’d be together today. It’s just interesting because it seems like Madison & peter were both dealing with heart break but weren’t planning to contact each other until Chris came, and I feel like that’s how Hannah & Tyler were. They were both heart broken and maybe regretted it but they weren’t actually gonna go back to each other until the show meddled.
