The guy that says Marty's music is too loud is Huey Lewis. The actual singer of Power of Love, which is the song Marty was playing. So he was objecting to his own song.

@@gamexsimmonds3581 it helps if you were there. Huey was literally inescapable there for a time. What I love is the fact that they had to really harden up the song to make the joke. It was literally the exact kind of thing you'd hear at a high-school dance in 85.

The idea of this film formed when writer Bob Gale was at his parents' house and found his dad's old high school yearbook. He learned his dad had been high school president and wondered whether they would've been friends, had they gone to school at the same time. From that, he got the idea of a movie where a teenager goes to school with his parents. Michael J. Fox was always the preferred choice to play Marty, but he was busy with a popular show at the time called Family Ties, so they cast another named Eric Stoltz. After a few weeks, it became clear that Stoltz wasn't working out. He wasn't a bad actor, but he was giving a dramatic performance in a movie that's supposed to be a comedy, so they ended up letting him go and pleading with the Family Ties showrunner to let them cast Michael. The compromise was that Michael would work on Family Ties during the day and Back to the Future at night, which is why so much of it takes place at night or indoors.

THE best trilogy ever made! This movie is considered to be a “perfect” movie, the script, the scenes and shots, the continuity. They teach about this movie in film school and go over everything it did and how it did it. It’s really amazing, and not just that this movie is amazing, but the continuity stays solid through out the trilogy, which is a notoriously difficult thing to do with time travel movies or science fiction in general. These films stand the test of time and I can’t wait for you both to see all three.

McFly was originally cast by another actor named Eric Stoltz, who was too serious with it and making everyone miserable. They filmed for over a month before everyone realized that it wasn't working or worth it, so they fired him and hired Michael J. Fox instead and shot the film ALL OVER AGAIN. Crazy.

Guys! The man who said Marty's band was too darn loud was Huey Lewis, who toured the country with his band playing music too darn loud. Director's inside joke! The music Marty was playing was a Huey Lewis song, the music playing while Marty was hanging onto the backs of cars was Huey Lewis music, and the music on the radio that woke up Marty was also from Huey Lewis! :)

The sequels are solid too, we're definitely all in for all three. 👍 I do find it a bit unsettling that the gap between now and the time this movie came out is several years longer than the time travel in the film itself. 🤔👴 Cheers and salutations from Canada. 🥃☮❤

I've seen this movie many times over the last almost forty years, and it has _just_ hit me: in the movie, Marty McFly's parents got together in 1955; in real life, the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Picture in 1955 went to the movie _Marty._ (Then again, the last time I watched _Back to the Future_ from beginning to end was well before 1995, the year in which I learned that _Marty_ won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1955.)

Isaw this in 1985 in the theater. One of the biggest laughs in the theater, since Ronald Reagan was actually president in 1985, was when MArty tells Doc who the president is in the future 1985 and Doc says "Ronald Reagan?! An Actor?!!" What the younger folks don't understand that yes Reagan had had a long acting career for a long time before he became governor of California and later President. si it was very surprising to Doc in 1955. The audience laughed also because Reagan was not liked by everyone as some "history rewriters' " narratives would like you to believe.

Christopher Lloyd's mom died in 1984. I wish she could have lived for one more year. Then she would have got to see him become a major star and forever cherished for one of the most beloved movie character of the 80s and 90s: Doc Brown.

Make no mistake about it, though. BTTF did take him to a new level of stardom, but Christopher Lloyd was already doing fairly well before that. The first movie he was in was _One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,_ and he started appearing on the show _Taxi_ in 1978, and became such a popular character that he was made a regular on the show in the second season.

Watching the rest of the trilogy is mandatory. It's one of the best, most consistent franchises ever. Besides, it tells one big, continuous story. Don't wait too long to watch the rest of them, part of their charm is all the callbacks & easter eggs. If you don't want to spoil part 3, be sure to stop the end of part 2 when the words "to be concluded" appears on screen. There's a full trailer that follows immediately afterwards.

In a world where everyone gets around by automobile, everyone has to go through driver's ed. They have to undergo about 30 hours of classroom instruction and about 30 hours behind the wheel. In a world where everyone gets around by _flying_ car, everyone has to undergo training as a _pilot._ That depends on six to twelve _months_ of training, 40 hours of which, _minimum,_ have to be logged _flying._ What would the proper _age_ for that be, I wonder.

I've see multiple engineers, physicists, futurists claim that we could have e had flying cars, or at least small personal scale flying vehicles, possibly decades ago. They point out there was a boom in science but it seemed to bottleneck around the 70's and 80's. Much of it is, like you mentioned regulations like with the FFA. And then the patent system keeps innovation from reaching the public for years unless a corporation buys out the patent. An example of this is 3D printing, there was a 30 years hold on it reaching ou license use since the 80's so we could have decades worth of 3D printing advancements if it hadn't been locked away from the public.

I think some may complain when hearing the song on radio lol but i’m guessing nobody took a video so no proof he sang it. Or the song was made by Chuck Berry cause he heard Marty playing the song. Only for this movie of course.
