This is my final video from Iraq. I've had the time of my life traveling through this country and I hope you've enjoyed my stories here over the last 9 weeks.
On my final day in Iraq, I met up with my long time Iraqi friend, Baderkhan, who you might know well from the many videos we shot together in Iraqi Kurdistan. We hit the streets of Baghdad (his hometown), and tried all of the best street food that the city has to offer! We were able to eat 5 dishes for just $15USD total, now that's a bargain!
Little did we know how scary this video would be to shoot -- I left my passport in my hotel room (which is a BIG no-no in Iraq), so we tried to dodge the police the entire day. If you can remember last week, I was thrown into a police station in the marshlands for using my GoPro... Find out if we made it to the end without any police encounters!
Also - it's with a heavy heart to explain that 24 hours after we shot this video, there was massive attack in the exact same market, on the exact same street, during the exact same time of the day. I was devastated to hear the news, and I couldn't believe our luck - we escaped it by just 24 hours. My deepest condolences go out to all of the loved ones that were lost in this horrible act, and I hope the city will return back to its glory days.

I can here from TikTok but didn’t realize how rude Drew was. Maybe it’s just dry humor but telling the guide he’ll get food poisoning, thinking someone’s calling people to kidnap him, like come on really? During my time in Iraq, in the military, I came to know that Iraq has some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I can’t with the constant negative comments, man. I know you’ve got this click bait, controversial algorithm to feed but do it with some respect.

While I think you had a very different perspective in the military than Drew had here, I definitely see what you mean. It’s like, we get it-you’re risking your life for this content. But this is Baderkhan’s city; it felt a little uncomfortable hearing him go on like that while Baderkhan is trying to show his hometown.

Iraq cuisine "in my opinion" is one of the best in the world. Try the Iraqi Dolma (stuffed vegetables) and Masgouf fish and you won't be disappointed. So many delicious dishes 😋 I'll be honest with you the most things I miss about Iraq 🇮🇶 is the food and the house where I was raised. الله يحفظ العراق 🤲🏻 Thanks Drew for sharing this video 👏🙏🏻

I remember watching it when it came out and more than half the country was already controlled by Taliban. I saw this coming, I think everyone did and it’s best for the US to stay out of it. I think theres two sides of every story. To the taliban they see themselves as heroes fighting off foreign invaders and preserving their culture and lifestyle. They see themselves as heroes and we are the wicked enemy. It sounds like a lot of places are standing down and letting taliban “take over” maybe they agree with taliban and want to work with them.

I liked Iraq more than Egypt , Many Egyptians scammed me and tried to scam me but in iraq people were giving me free food free car rides free stay at there homes free , both countries are arab and i got shocked how iraqis are WAAAAY more welcoming and had very nice hospitality maners ❤

I was just in Baghdad in April and I had so much so fun the food was nice, but also the restaurant where you held snakes is where my grandma house is I wish you recorded more in Karada, Mansoor where Baghdad Tower is located, and Zayoona where the blue dome is also located.

I am really glad that you enjoyed your visit to Iraq Drew I wish I was there I would have invited you home (Diwaneah) and showed you around, as you may already know Iraq has been suffering from security breaches since 2003 and thousands of people lost their life due to terrorists attacks by foreigners, that’s why there are a lot of security check points and police are in alert in a try to reduce theses attacks also due to the corruption of the Iraqi government the security system is not the best.
