@@Gtmz53fxt56zxc you are very much correct about the heat resistance The benefit of Capricorn tubing does not stop there though The ID is tighter which makes for less slop of the filament inside the tube (a huge benefit regarding bowden tube setups) and the material used for Capricorn PTFE is much more slippery which helps reduce drag inside the tubing when the filament is going around corners/bends in the pathway to the extruder These X1 units are basically running a reverse bowden tube setup so although the extruder motor is directly mounted to the hot end assembly the filament still requires a travel distance inside of a bowden tube to reach the extruder So retractions are not as much an issue on even the reverse bowden setups but slight binding or drag inside the PTFE is still prominent when using a sub standard tube Does that sort of make sense ? I only understand this because I own a true direct drive printer, a bowden tube printer and a reverse bowden tube printer With my printers using the PTFE tubing I noticed a drastic improvement in print quality and a lack of issues by simply switching out from the clear PTFE tubing I was using Hope this helps explain a little bit

@@Gtmz53fxt56zxc it is 11 pm here in Canada currently I'm doing some shorter prints on my X1C so that tomorrow it's not in use for when I swap out the factory PTFE rubes Also adding some LED lights to the bottom of my AMS You'd be surprised how much brighter the chamber is with some LED lights shining through the glass top of the printer down onto the build plate !!!! With the AMS on top it makes sense for me to put some strips underneath the AMS pointing down so I'm doing it lol

Update on my end Capricorn tubing is 100% an essential modification Even the quality of my internal memory 24 minute benchy improved I might actually try some TPU in the AMS to see if it flows and doesn't jam I'll keep you posted !!!!

I still haven't run any TPU through my AMS because I'm testing multi color prints The most notable difference aside from quality is the much smoother path that the filament travels through I've never had a jam up with the clear tubing but when I would watch the filament being fed it would almost have to ram its way from the AMS to the hot end Now using better quality PTFE the feed and retraction is extremely smooth That is the #1 result that I was looking for As a tip for releasing the pneumatic clips that hold the tubing in place I used tweezers with the end open so I could slide the tweezers around the fittings and push evenly from both sides And if you decide to go this route inside the AMS as I did be mindful of the 2 small wiring harnesses in the back of the AMS when you lift it up I did the whole swap without unplugging the wires but if you are uncertain it would be best to unplug the wires Today I will be installing a simple LED light setup underneath the AMS and hide the fact that it is even there A more simple way to get extra light might be a simple slim LED lightbar and just place it in top of the glass in front of the AMS But I'm a left handed heavy duty mechanic so no matter what I do everything is the hard way so taking what could be complicated to many and making it simple while still looking professional is a way of life for me lol

@@DM4DS I am sorry to hear about your failures. As I wrote, I havent ordered one yet. There are still way too many vulnerabilities in the X1. So I will wait. I am following Bambu Lab forum, to see if they are getting rid of the failures. Yeah, the video you linked to, is pretty good.
