Thanks agin from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this very performance at the venue on Nov.26, last year. Very exciting 3-hour-40-minute-long show with 33-song setlist. (Happy fatigue thereafter 😄) This song was played in a big festival, Lollapalooza, Chicago last year with this quality and the audience got hyped.

And yes, Japan is where it's at for music of all types right now. So much awesome stuff out there! The maids are my fave, because of their combination of great musicianship in each role, unmatched (IMO) songwriting and arranging, and a hard working really likeable group of women who love to interact and give love to their fans. And it's 100% genuine.

Saiki (not Miku) wrote the lyrics to "Hate?" She was pissed at all the husbands who cheated on their wives during the Covid pandemic, including the husband of a good friend, so she vented. The lyrics gave the song the mood and energy it needed.

This video is one of the songs from a one-man show that last December, in which they played 33 songs for about 3.5 hours. Last year, they toured 15 locations across the US, and most of the shows were sold out. They are a very popular group, especially in the US. The lead guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the side guitarist has written the lyrics. There are no bad songs. They are a great group. Please enjoy.

This was a BIG show. I think it was their 10th anniversary show. I heard some Lovebites members were at this show.

They do get even heavier than this song but they're fairly eclectic. I describe them as a modern alternative hard rock band. They describe themselves generally as hard rock but they want to define their own sound. It's a blend of many rock sub-genres, including metal, punk/post punk, alt rock, classic hard rock, as well as hints of jazz/fusion and some prog leanings. Yeah, I didn't expect that from five Japanese women in maid costumes, either.

More! I saw them do this live in a tiny venue. Standing right in front of the bassist, MISA. What a great concert that was--you have to see them live if they come around your area (they have done four U.S. tours, not sure they have ever played in Canada, but they probably will.)

Hell yeah man thanks for a great reaction! Sure, react to more Band-Maid. Someone already mentioned "From Now On" (instrumental) live, but I would start out with the the official MV. Personally I would add "Screaming" live, "Unleash" official live video, "Different" (live at Shibuya Eggman), and I would recommend "Don't Be Long" (instrumental) if only there was live version with better audio other than a few fancams.

Misa can also slap and pop and fingerpick, it just depends on where she thinks it fits into the song. Watch NO GOD live and you'll get an idea. Best rock band on the planet.

Japan is where it's at as far as rock and metal are concerned. There are so many great bands. BAND-MAID, Nemophila, Lovebites, Hanabie, Trident, and that's just a small sampling of the all lady bands.

Kanami is the lead guitarist. She writes and arranges the songs. The bassist, Misa, can use a pick, slap, or pluck her bass. Kanami will tell her where she wants each technique. Kanami also lets Akane, drummer, know where she wants double pedal bass kicks at. Akane has worked very hard to be able to give Kanami as much double pedal as she wants. These ladies are all very good friends and rely on input from each other to make the band better.

You asked about the lyrics - usually the rhythm guitarist writes the words (she also founded the band). In this case it was the lead singer, and the hate is for a friend of hers' husband that cheated on her friend during covid. That's what I heard anyway.
