I’ve just recently found your channel and have been binging the long historical’s as a sort of “podcast” while working my long night shifts. The Btech universe is so expansive and rich. They are fabulously done and a real sanity lifesaver. Thank you!

These short stories are totally fun. Little side stories which are fascinating but not pertinent to the bigger narrative.

Well I wanted to cover this particular point in Capellan history because it relates to events in the 2ndSW within the Confederation. The Chancellor might not have to worry about threats from their own generals but they can't run everything at once. The Red Lancers also play a part in the most major event between Liao and Davion in that later conflict.

It's fascinating to think, had things gone differently, perhaps Capellan Confederation could have become a republic, a space shogunate, or at the very least something less autocratic.

im so glad i found this channel. i found myself wondering recently if there are similar channels doing lore stuff like with 40k that i enjoy so much. ironically i was actually brought up on Battletech(novels and games) and only got into 40k much later, im very happy to reconnect with franchise i've been into for almost 30 years.

Episode 2/4 in this series. Should be one a day to the end, after which there'll most likely be a pause while I finish off the Second Succession War. This one doesn't really fit so well into the existing Age of War series. Probably just before the Dawn of BattleMechs chapter but it's a bit of a tangent after 'Mechs are introduced at the end of the "Bloodthirsty Giant" episode. If I were to redraft the whole thing I would have included the Rim War in this one and put it straight after yesterday's episode.

A small note about Maskirovka. "Sk" in it sounds not like "sh". Try pronouncing 's' without any additional sounds (like 's' in 'mass'). But nevertheless, great job as ever, keep it up. Best wishes from modern Liao)

@@billybully4434 Thank you for the correction. I think my mistake comes from the fact that a couple times in early sources they are called "mashkirovka," and I always assumed that was an incorrect spelling of the correct pronunctiation.

Great story. All the great houses have evolution stories (you've told many of them already) and it's cool to see how they got to the point where they were all driven by a single person (mostly) to destroy everything they couldn't have (or at least try too) in the Succession Wars.

How are they happening? I'm working hard, that's how. Anyway these vids really demonstrate how much the added complexity of moving all the regiments around on the galactic map slows down production since I seem to be able to comfortably do 10 minutes a day without that concern.

I haven't even gotten to that in the timeline yet. I've just finished off 3056 in my own reading. DRT is next which I'm pretty sure is the first novel into 3057 so still a few years to go before Sun-Tzu reforms the CC.

I try to go through them chronologically (which turned out to be mostly the release order). And I completely agree with you: the Charrette novels are great, with "Wolves on the Border" being my overall favorite.@@SvenVanDerPlank
