Love from India, Dee. I recently graduated from college and have been feeling overwhelmed with various thoughts. I've been struggling with mental health and loneliness, but your videos have been incredibly helpful. I discovered your KZfaq channel just yesterday. It's nearly 4:30 in the morning, and I've been unable to sleep due to overthinking. Then I remembered you, opened my phone, and listened to your content, which brought a sense of calm and positivity to my mind.

Hi Dee, one of your followers from Sri Lanka here, I’m sorry to hear your experience on the dance floor, I have to say this is not usually the norm at weddings here. The dance floor is usually enjoyed by all and can be a fun experience for everyone. I was so happy to hear you visited Sri Lanka though, and I hope your trip was generally enjoyable. I’ve been your follower since the video “Let them” and have been enjoying and looking forward to your uploads. It brightens up my day. Love from the island 🤍.

I loved my visit to Sri Lanka - especially a wonderful ayurvedic massage - bliss. I managed to get into the mountains and visited several places along the coast.I had always wanted to visit since reading about 'Ceylon' when I was at school. Great memories for a cool day here! Interesting about the dancing. Take care. D

Your story brought back a memory for me. About 50 years ago, an Indian couple bought the house next door and I became fast friends with the wife, even though she was probably 20+ years older than me. She and her daughter wanted me to have a sari. Back then sari salesmen would set up shop in hotels; beds piled high with fabric. So, off we went and I got my sari. We brought it home and my friend put it on me. Like you, I loved it. Of course, there was no You Tube back then to show me how to wrap it myself, but I was given a pamphlet by the salesman with instructions. Even with the pamphlet, I never could wrap it myself, no matter how hard I tried. And, like you, I know I still have it somewhere in a trunk or drawer. I am on a quest to find it, and, with the help of You Tube, hopefully, see if I can put it on again. Thank you for the fond memory.

I wondered how women kept their sarees from coming loose, the lack of buttons, zippers or belts made this a bit of a mystery. Great story, and I agree the vivid colors and the elegant style of the saree is one of the most beautiful styles of dress that a women can wear........I'm sure you were stunning!

Lovely to hear your story! I have a funny story about wearing a sari too. In my late teens I went to a fancy dress party and a friends mum lent me a sari to wear. I don’t remember any pins! I remember the underskirt was cotton and had a drawstring waist that I had to tie tightly. I then folded the sari material & tucked it into the waistband of the underskirt. At the party I was sitting chatting to some guy & he was making me laugh. As I laughed, I heard & felt a ping!! The cord in the underskirt had snapped & all the sari material started to fall off me!! I gathered myself together & made it to the loo. I managed to get the cord out, tie it together & feed it back through but it took me ages & all the time I had people banging on the door wanting the loo & telling me to hurry up! 🤣 I remember the brother of Nick Heywood from the group Haircut 100 was also at the party! This was back in the 80s. The things we remember! Love your blouse too xx

My my. What a wonderful story to share… and a wonderful memory. Ahhhh. What an interesting life you have lived..and still living. 👍🏼💞 I was always working, single parent. Didn’t go anywhere special..but spending time with my girls, I certainly have such happy memories. Trips to a mall near us on Fridays and we’d walk around and see the sights of the different seasons. Get some ice cream and my girls were each allowed to pick out a $2.50 toy in KB toys. We went on picnics and enjoyed swimming a bit in a nearby lovely, beautiful lake. Didn’t have lots of money, but could pay my bills and I thoroughly enjoyed each moment with my girls. As I got older, did same with my grandchildren. Younger daughter passed 13 yrs ago…helped raise the grandkids. And I’m burnt out now….or it feels that way. One grandson..oldest…with me. Kind of driving me insane. I fear one of these days I’ll snap. To love is so easy for me…but burnout is taking a toll on me. He’s got a few narcissistic issues, he’s lazy and he emits a lot of negative energy which ‘short circuits’ the quiet, peaceful space I used to feel here in my tiny home.🤦♀️ Thanks for always sharing a wonderful story with us. Thank you for always being so calm and sweet and gentle. I feel better after listening to/watching you. What a fantastic life you’ve had. And still have. A lady I worked with was Hindu. Very sweet lady. We became close friends. A very kind, gentle woman. She gave me a Hindu/Buddhist book to read. I connected with so much of what I read in that book…I still have it. Kind of changed my philosophy about living/coping with life. I must find it. He’s been here 6 months already. He has so many bills that he contributes nothing to food, rent or to my bills. Sorry….venting a bit. Like watching your videos, reading that book seemed to ground me. At the time I needed grounding. Still do at times. So I thank you. For your stories, for your gentleness and for your lovely smile. You do calm me down just when ‘things on my end’ get a bit overwhelming. 🫶🩷🩷🩷 I try to remind myself that I’m still here for a reason. Well…I sense that my 2 little inside psycho cats need me and love me…as do the outside critters. Maybe I feel they help keep me somewhat sane. Yes…they are spoiled…but they trust me and I’ve cared for all of them for almost 12 years now. 🫶
@Cheshirelass24 күн бұрын
Please do make sure that you include things that give you comfort each day - curl up with a coffee and think of those times when the children were small - and you all enjoyed the time together. Don't apologise for venting - better out than going round and round in your mind. Take care of your cats, the critters - and especially yourself. D

They said you should wear red, but the bride wears red. Is that a rule in Indian weddings that only the bride wears red? Like in ours, only the bride wears white. But either way, I bet you looked gorgeous at the wedding. you know, those days of your life that you remember when you looked so pretty. I need to make a list of mine.

Wasn't in India - the bride didn't wear red. So I was ok!! D

It used to be thing back in the day, now the brides like to experiment with various colours including white which was seen as a big no for weddings a few years ago :) our main ‘lucky’ colors for weddings are red, pink, green, yellow :) hope this helps!
