I think I figured out why Twice's Scientist performed badly. In my opinion it is because The Feels is still on fire and JYP squished a 3rd full length album before their concert, and honestly, I am listening to The Feels more than Scientist even though I am a Once. Both songs are great, but because of bad timing the public is not well aware of Scientist's existence, and some (including me) are not over with The Feels.

They can't be forgotten, they maybe less popular throughout the years because of the new groups arising. It doesn't mean that they are forgotten, its just idol life isn't about all ups, it happens and its part of their career life. I don't think any of these groups will be forgotten. They will be remembered as legends just as 2NE1, SNSD, Wonder Girls, and etc. which at the end of 2nd, start of 3rd gen were also not doing great, going on hiatus and things like that. I am a blink and I do love blackpink but it is true. I don't see much of a future with them as a group(they will be successful individually). YG is seriously holding them back. They say quality over quantity but that's an excuse, a lot of groups have a good number of songs but they don't compromise on quality. YG is one of the big 3, they should have enough money for more comebacks a year and still have good quality. Blinks aren't even asking for much - 2 comebacks a year, variety shows maybe. A lot of people got into k-pop in 2020-21 and blackpink didn't have any comebacks as a group in 2021, they are missing an opportunity go get more popular. Random person on the internet - TWICE are dwindling and going out of "fashion" Meanwhile their latest album is reaching 900k physical sales and has got one of the highest ratings for a K-Pop album in various critic and rating websites. 🤣 None of the posters were ever ONCEs. That's an obvious fact. You can't say that TWICE changed their concept abruptly when the transition started from the "Yes or Yes" era and solidified in "Fancy" era. Also you can't complain for the change in more mature/dark concept since it's the only rational evolution of a group of mostly teenage girls to a group of young ladies when at the same time many of the fans ASKED for that transition. Their songs also paint that picture perfectly from a young teen girl yearning/questioning love to a mature young lady who has now experienced/understood all the aspects of love be it romantic or platonic . If people are dumb and can't see the parallels it's a "them" problem , not TWICE or TWICE management problem.. P.S I can't comment on the other 2 groups because I don't listen/care about BP or anything YGE related and although I listen to RV songs I'm not that invested to know the ins and outs of the group , the fandom and their company. To be honest, it’s natural that each group had their own eras to shine and has their own time that they spark. Today is already fourth generation kpop era , we have to accept that no matter what. It’s not ppl forgetting them , it’s just ppl chasing after new trends and themes of current generation kpop groups . To give as an example , current fourth generation kpop groups music styles and third generation kpop group music styles got me feel like totally different. For me , those three girl groups are the big three girl groups of third generation kpop era . Eventho they may not get the same vibe and hype like they used to from current generation kpop stans , I will not forget those three girl groups for giving me such amazing songs and performances throughout their era and until now. People criticize Twice for being too girly like they had 6 comebacks in 2021 I don’t think Kura Kura or Perfect World were “girly” at all I think those were more womanly and even Alcohol Free was more romantic/womanly concept. For me it is VERY VERY hard to entertain me. Believe me Im starting to lose interest in BLACKPINK because they haven’t had a comeback in 1 year.
