In Puerto Rico we have just a traditional pancake called "bacalaitos" in spanish. It is very salty and it is made with tiny slices of cod fish, flour and spices. We also eat it very very crunchy.

Hello Maangchi, I'm really happy you did this pancakes recipe, I finally received your book tuesday (because I sent it to American relatives to have your signed bookplate, I had to wait their visit to France, I'm a little sad there wasn't any bookplate finally, I don't understand if they listed it or if it wasn't with the book) anyway I read it with pleasure and I put lot of little post-it on the pages I wanted to test and this was one of those. My boyfriend always love to boast with his homemade and smelling tasty lunchboxes at work, his colleagues often say they want to steal his lunch in the fridge if he is not careful... Or even in his hands when it's hot and just out of the oven. I really want to thank you because your recipe are always so clear and simple and soooooo delicious! If you come one day to France I hope I can see you. Have a really nice day!

I've found putting a slice part of the wa into a clove of garlic so that it is not separated but cut helps with crushing it. Like cut it maybe 1/2 or 1/3rd of the way through and then when you slam down on it to crush it you don't have garlic flying off at 100 mph. I also do this with ginger since I've had a bad time with that before and I needed to stop it from flying across the kitchen to a place I can't ever get it back out.

Maangchi, this recipe totally looks awesome! I'll try to cook these for my son's bentou. After all our bentou and Korean dosirak is the same. Me and my son really loves watching your videos and checking out your website. You really put effort into what you're doing, you obviously love what you do. Kudos and keep it up, you're doing so well! We also love your website! Unlike most cooking websites where the picture of the finished product is shown and all the rest are written down, your website is very helpful. I'm also a cook and baker so taking written instructions for a recipe isn't a problem but for my son who shows interest in cooking (he's just 8) so sometimes he can't visualize what to do. Your website shows a step-by-step illustration of the procedure so it helps him a lot. Some cooking videos tend to be boring but yours aren't. Your cheerfulness shows as you cook, your love for what you do can be really seen. You brighten up our days with your own little sunshine. We really enjoy your videos and website! We're a fan.
