I just bought the mini because I work in manufacturing and it's going to make my life easier opening boxes and unwrapping pallets. I don't need a big ass knife inside a factory so there's definitely a purpose for it.

I have the reg. size Bugout and was thinking of getting the mini but have to agree with you , I feel the reg. size is sufficient enough in size not to big and not to small, Thanks for your honest review , well said

What knife is in the sheath on your backpack? Also, I’m trying to decide between the griptillian and the bugout. I like to light weight feature of the bugout but I’m concerned that it’s not as durable since there isn’t as much metal in the handle.

My EDC before the mini was a Boker+ petite lol. I prefer small for edc, personally. Of course I just use them to open letters, boxes and other every day things. Not to survive 3 days in the wilderness

here in commi fornia i try to keep all knifes small so i just ordered the mini but would prefer to carry a full size knife... oh well

Do you know if there is a max blade length in CA? I am thinking about getting the regular Bugout and don’t want to break any carry laws.

Does Benchmade make any edc knives with the steels you like or is cpm 20cv their best.

Only perk to mini is it's legal to carry in more states.

Dude I just order the mini a few days ago. Just found your channel. Now I am thinking I should have gotten the full size.

I upgraded mine a little and now it finds its way into my pocket quite a bit. Micarta scales and a backspacer really made it much more appealing for me. I like the “hiking review”, reminds me of Kevin Nealon’s podcast.

For me the mini bugout is useful as a fidget toy more than a tool. And that excites some people. I carry the full size bugout and my wife uses the mini. But I still play at times. Also they just need to add the Bugout to the custom shop. Like imagine a 20cv g10 bugout with a coated blade. That would be dope

I actually think that regular bugout is a tad too big. By experience I find that 3 3/4 inch closed is max I am willing to carry. I got mini bugout not expecting much and I am surprised how much I like it.

I don't feel like the review suffered much from this format. Maybe size comparisons and measurements, but I generally watch many videos and am capable of Google image searching knives I'm ready to pull the trigger on, so that's not a big deal! I agree with your assessment of the Mini Bugout, your "waffery" description nailed it! I might try adding titanium or copper scales to make it feel more substantial, or I might just sell it, I'm not sure! Thanks for the content!

Confused. You said you like it but then you also said you don't in the comments. Its suppose to be small. Great for fishing, camping etc. You can cut fishing line, cut bait, etc. You don't always need a machete to slice a piece of bread.

I found that my mini bugout is a bit difficult to open with the thumb stud.

I really enjoyed your review however seems to me that you don’t see a fit for a mini bugout what may I add I have smaller hands than most people I have a short a person my height has nothing to do,with it but my hands do and the mini bugout is perfect to me and maybe to normal people it’s small but to me its great.. and I am pretty sure plenty of other people have small hands as well and they will find what I am saying true

For me the bugout is perfect in my hand And I think mini bugout gonna be uncomfortable for use correctly the axis lock And also the fact in France is more expensive than the standard bugout 😂😂 Anyway awesome video like usual 👌👊

If there was a 3.5inch bladed bugout, it would be like the PERFECT knife for me. I love the standard bugout. I think Benchmade should have gone bigger instead of smaller

I 1000%, which is twice as much as 100%, disagree with you on this, which unfortunately means you're wrong. My son carries the full size, I carry the mini & love it. Whenever I show my mini (stop it) to guys who have the full size, they always say the same thing in the exact same way..."I almost think I like that size better". It's the perfect size/weight for an EDC pocket knife for 99% of guys (come on, women don't carry knives...they just don't). You're wrong & I'm right, & it doesn't mean you're any less an amazing guy, it just means you're objectively & inarguably wrong about this.

This was not the most helpful review tbh. I think you might do better to not be hiking so your thoughts are a little less scattered. Your review of the regular bugout when you were sitting was far more coherent and we didn't have to hear your labored breathing.

So…you never considered that your viewers might be in a jurisdiction that has a legal limit of 3 inches on a folder? I don’t live in those places, but for those people, you can’t give a review as to how it might work for them compared to other 3 inch and sub 3 inch blades???? Comparing it to the regular Bugout misses the point of the knife’s purpose. When reviewing knifes, you should keep in mind the actual purpose of the knife. Don’t you think?

I ordered the mini Stormtrooper. It will be my first Benchmade knife. Hopefully I will have no regrets since I can’t compare it to the regular bug out. 🤷‍♂️
