Glad that is what came across in the review - I still love my bike (just about to get it serviced). It still gives me a smile from ear to ear every time I manage to get out on a long(er) ride.

Hi Greg - you will not be disappointed. I have the X and the bracket I have for the SHAD panniers has cleared the exhaust and allowed me to fit the full sized panniers. Have serious fun, be great to see a photo of your new ride.

I'm a little limited on just how far my own luggage sticks out as I live on Guernsey in the Channel Islands and some of our roads are less than 6 feet wide! Passing an oncoming pedestrian or another motorcycle can sometimes be a struggle. (Does my rear look big with these on has a whole new meaning here!)

Thanks for the comment. Because it is a tall bike, I can understand why people can feel a little nervous. I have found that it is well balanced and does not seem top heavy at all. I can highly recommend test riding one, it is different to many other bikes.

There is already a new release TRK since I completed this review, so I would not be surprised if things have changed. Regardless of which these bikes are awesome, for the cost per smile and the sheer fun, it is a fantastic machine.

I think the X might be a bit too tall for you.. it is just about my limit at 6'1" do not rule out the ten until you have sat/rode one. It is an amazing bike. Another reader if my blog said he traded in his old Honda and loves his trk502.. let me know what you go for! Have fun..

Okay, test ride done. On the standard Leoncino 500.I struggled quite a bit with the different setup - much lower than my XT, harder, clutch lever quite awful. Also that you hardly have to use it (probably changed gears far too often). A somehow really loong way from 1st via neutral to 2nd. But I quite likes the knee angle. Well, I also had to sit on a TRK. Both of my feet hung about 5 cm above the ground. Consequently, I got a red lion baby (Leoncino). Levers will be exchanged from my dealer against adjustable ones (red-black). For anything else, I want to take a little bit of time (screen, luggage, etc.). Hope the little lion and I will become good friends after some time. What I will do over the winter: level out the seat so that it becomes flat and install a gel layer from equestrian sports (these are much thinner than the ones for motorbikes, I already have that on the XT, the seat is far less squishy than with a bike gel pad).

Hi, these are great bikes, but to answer your question, I do not believe they have an immobilser. I have thatcham locks and ground anchors.

It had not been released when I bought this one. The new one looks amazing however, and as it being the same bike underneath I bet it rides great as well.

Mine has been brilliant (I was doing about 80 miles a day and it lapped it up). Just like everything, providing you look after it, check and oil things as it is needed, I am sure it is more than capable of 100 miles a day.

It is a tall bike. The TRK502 is essentially the same bike but it is lower. I would suggest getting to a dealer and sitting on them both. He rode my bike and is shorter than me. Ultimately it is an amazing bike, the whole Benelli range is actually very exciting. Let me know what you went for!

This is a tall bike and if you're 3 inches taller than me I reckon you'll handle this with ease. I hope you added an extra 0 by mistake as 130 stone I'd be surprised any bike would fit..😁 it is such a great bike, I rode loads and this one really did tick all the boxes on spec and handling. Hope you get to ride one as you'll understand why I love mine so much.

Well worth the money and should be on everyone's test ride list. It is a serious contender even the benelli brand deserves some respect. Have fun and let me know if you go for it, would love to see the photos and what colour you go for.

The official weight is 213kg. On a personal note, it feels incredibly light when riding (corning and handling) but it does feel a little heavy when stopped (lights and junctions). This is probably because of the height. For me the bike is still amazing, as I don't often need to put my foot down.

This is a standard exhaust on a 502X, it is stainless steel. The 502 exhaust (non X) has the stubby one under the engine. They do have different exhaust notes.

It is very agile and still has a great pick up for its size and weight..

Holds it own. 80 MPH all day long (if you want) without breaking a sweat. Big enough to be seen and more than comfortable, mine just laps up the miles.

@@paulcummins5231 I think it is an amazing piece of kit. Honda's are good as well, but for the price, kit and build the benelli brand deserves some real respect. Personally I would go Benelli.

@@paulcummins5231 all I can say is that my bike feels strong and is going well.. I plan on maintaining it and looking after it and I have confidence that mine will be able to go beyond the 30k miles..

Good point, I did not want to overload everyone - that said the X has larger spoke wheels, and the road version has smaller alloy hubs.
