We regularly prepare capsicum potato sabji at home. It is easy, and everyone loves it, so capsicum finds its way onto our dinner plate almost every week. But, the regular capsicum sabji tends to be dry, and I have to make a dal in the side. It is extra work in my opinion! Then a Marathi friend of mine told me about this Besan wali shimla mirch | Easy capsicum sabji. The basic recipe of capsicum sabji is almost the same, the only difference is that we add some roasted besan (gram flour) with a little water. The resulting sabji is totally different (in a good way of course!) to what we are generally used to. The flavour and aroma of roasted besan wonderfully complements the capsicum. The sabji has a semi dry consistency, so it is easier on the palate when we eat it with rotis. Now, I have almost fully transitioned to this besan wali shimla mirch.

½ tsp garlic paste
½ tsp ginger paste
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp garam masala powder
