[ENTRY CAR] CUSCO GR SUPRA SZ-R MAX ORIDO GR SUPRA RZ Tuned by HKS [DRIVER] DK : Keiichi Tsuchiya MAX : Manabu Orido NOB : Nobuteru Taniguchi [STAGE] GUNMA CYCLE SPORT CENTER (GUNSAI)
Would love to see the tuning power potential of the 2L. I imagine it won't be too difficult to match the 3L power from the 2L engine. Then you'd have the best handling A90. Looking forward to the future developments on this car! Thanks to Best MOTORing for providing English subs!!!
Hello, President Akio Toyota! How are you? Thank you for making a good Supra! Next time, 5sheet and 6MT's Supra making and selling, please! I want to ride a 5sheet and 6MT sports car! Toyota Supra will be good feeling and quality, I think! Keep going and fun to drive!! I love you! Message from Takashi Ohtake(Japan).I was a Wimbledon champion and U.S.open champion! See you later.Bye-Bye!
Still my favorite show since year 2000! best motoring

Although they did not drive stock version of both back to back, their feedback on 2L vs 3L is very insightful 👍

2.0 and 3.0 don't compete in the same category. The goal of this episode was to highlight the difference in handling/feeling/physics between the 4-cylinder and the 6-cylinder. In the end it seems the SZ-R is more agile and the power output fits the chassis better than the GR model.

keep in mind touge showdown always favors lighter cars. On a track the 3L is obviously faster

Most comprehensive Supra review on the net. My take is a 2L with more power would beat 3L in all aspects but no mistaking that 6 cylinder sound is drool worthy

Like they said, the 2L is good for circuit tracking but the 3L is for everything else.

what a great episode being able to see the distinct differences of engine size and testing/development. Gotta say i would prefer Oridos car any day . but if my only place to drive are some winding hills or togue , im not going to overlook the handling and petal to the metal action the smaller engine can provide

Thanks for the video and English subtitles! It was great hearing about their thoughts on the new Supra and seeing it on the Gunsai touge. I think Tsuchiya-san was a little harsh on Orido-san’s Supra. Lol
@sans.wagner3 жыл бұрын
For real. It seems Tsuchiya-san prefer older chassis than the new ones.
@w43973 жыл бұрын
@@sans.wagner really? I think it's about the weight and overall balance from the tuning rather than car's chassis itself which maybe the reason why he chose old nsx type r rather than supra a80 or r34 gtr(at least for the 90s era car).

Interesting to see the 2L feel and perform better than it's bigger brother. Even with lower power and weaker breaks the weight difference and balance more than made up for it. The 2L has great tuning potential.
@campkira3 жыл бұрын
kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hslgaMxpntivc30.html 2l is a little lighter... but the problem is it don't had power.. at touge it is fine but in the end.. i don't see much driving around since peoplejust don't liekt hem..
@PurgatoryVLM3 жыл бұрын
Think so too, I wish their was a clearer benefit to one
@ciello___83073 жыл бұрын
I mean Touge Showdown has ALways, and I mean ALWAYS favored lower powered lighter cars. The Cayman for example, beat its bigger brother the 911 here. Its not really representative of what would happen on a road course
@MrZyLeXx3 жыл бұрын
On this showdown, weight is the most important factor here. Smaller breaks doesn't matter since they won't use them for longer than 4 seconds and i can almost guarantee that the 2L has upgraded brakes. 3L is the clear choice unless all u do with the car is small tracks/short touge.

Very common on older BMW's from the 80's and 90's. Everyone wants the straight 6 for the power and sound, but the inline 4's feel more nimble.
