When our bodies and systems don't understand that the traumatic event is over, we can end up experiencing traumatic stress. Healing from a traumatic event requires us to feel seen and understood; otherwise, we may continue to experience the effects of our trauma over and over. In what ways do you feel seen and understood? How do you know that someone is holding space for you?

That's very true and it takes time to get past the trauma that's happened in your lives and it can be different for each individual

That is true, in some cases it is even a possibility that you are still in a relationship with the person who have caused the traumatic stress.

Of course, we all know that, no? Trauma caused functional brain damage...that’s the problem. The hippocampus is much smaller in traumatized ppl...to mention just one thing.

Your body and your system need to learn, not just that the event is over, but that it's not going to happen again.

My trauma was not caused by an impertinent person but a real robbery of dignity. Made a fool of me. I’ve had a black heart ever since.

It's worse than that, the body and mind are drawing similar trauma to you as if to say parts of you are in the moment of trauma and need your attention today.
