I’ll upload atleast 6-7 more such videos. Thanks for praising the 5.1 mix. I have been mixing most of my videos in 5.1 since 2015, I’m very comfortable at it. Mixing 5.1 for me is as easy as stereo. But I didn’t used to upload in the format earlier because I thought KZfaq won’t ever support it (I was so wrong! 😅). This video however is very basic 5.1 mix. But I can very well make advanced mixes with dynamic panning. I’ll plan and do that in some video for fun!

Great to know buddy, my obsession with this stuff started when I was 10 years old, been trying to build the ultimate home theater ever since! (A very niche and expensive hobby, especially in India) Too obsessed with how a movie sounds, both Bollywood and Hollywood and since then want to recreate the experience at home. And yes, although it is a basic 5.1 mix, the effort is more than basic, it is extraordinary because like I said even the film studios and even billion dollar music artists don't post in multi channel sound, they have only recently started posting in 4K SDR, till last year it was 1080p SDR 2 channel non sense they all used to post, I used to download proper D Cinema trailers from websites like thedigitaltheater and many more before it.

@@ShreyTyagi Only the Sound system at PXL Orion Mall managed to impress me as good as an IMAX Sound system. So far IMAX lacked the height FX that gave Atmos an advantage. Now IMAX comes with height speakers so it should sound better in terms of Surround FX. But the issue is, only a few NEW IMAX theatres will have this setup, not the existing ones, so Atmos gains an advantage here. Anyway, thanks for your in depth videos. I'll be waiting for more such theatre related videos. And do share some of the best theatres/audis that you've visited so far. This will help people like me to make it a point to visit there. I recommed the following - 1. PXL at Orion Mall, Rajajinagar, Bangalore 2. Swagath Shankarnag ONYX theatre (Balcony seats), Bangalore 3. Maharaja theatre, Bhubaneswar

It has a height speaker behind screen as well. And there is no dedicated channel for bass. So you can call it similar to 7.0.5 instead of 7.1.4

Priya is at another level when compared to the three you’ve mentioned, I visited all of them. For video recording, no phone comes close to iPhone 13 under 60k. If you can get iPhone 14, even better. For photos, some androids are far better, but strictly for videos, iPhones are unbeatable.

I don’t think Dunki will be able to get shows in Priya IMAX.

I have been to Logix twice, and Priya 5 times. Yes, Priya is better than Logix in terms of picture quality and sound. Logix is better in terms of seating, audi architecture and screen size. But overall, Priya is better because it has Laser 4 projector and 12-channel sound which is much better than Logix. Difference between screen size of Logix and Priya is only 4 feet.

I have been there twice. It’s good. But doesn’t have 4K projector and 12-track IMAX. Basically it is behind technically.

PVR Priya is ten times better than Select City Walk. I’ve seen 4 movies at SSW, 2 at Priya. Best theatre for 4DX in Delhi NCR would be Cinepolis Premium 4DX at DLF Avenue, Saket.

@@sammflick9387 No SSW is not dual laser. It’s single laser CoLa. Projector is good but screen is among the smallest in Delhi. Audi architecture is bad. 12-channel sound is not there (fake marketing). Priya has twice as large screen, 12-channel sound, latest projector. So no, there’s no comparison between these two at all. I don’t even consider SSW an IMAX.

@sammflick9387 Even I watched Avatar in SSW. It’s a brilliant audi. But it can’t be compared to Priya. Priya is huge and much better in every aspect.

IMAX ke special speakers hote hain. Normal movie accha sound nahi karta. Agar IMAX vaale enhance karein tabhi IMAX speakers mein achha sound karega. Toh yeh sab movie jo aapne bola, ye agar IMAX enhance karega tabhi achha lagega IMAX mein.

Agar ek movie Dolby Atmos aur IMAX dono mein lagi hai, toh IMAX ka sound overall zyada achha hota hai.

Priya is 3rd largest. Logix 71ft, Vegas 70ft, Priya 67ft. The kind of experience you are talking about is only possible in Gujarat Science City IMAX. But sitting on a seat closer to screen in Vegas, Logix or Priya will also give you a very IMAX worthy experience.

Kochi is a hood market for IMAX. I fully expect it to get one soon.

Headphones mein sound clarity aapko cinemas se achhi mil jayegi agar itna paisa lagoge. But surround effects nahi aayenge... Aur bass bhi mazedaar nahi hoga kyunki cinema ki bass se floor aur seats vibrate hota hai, chest mein impact karta hai toh maza aata hai. Magar headphones mein vaisi feel nahi aayegi.

Animal will not fill the whole screen but it still would be a good experience. You can choose a seat in the exact center of the auditorium for best experience.

I understand your concern, Manoj. But IMAX 15/70 film is not used by filmmakers anymore. Even if they do for some scenes, they don’t finish the movie on IMAX 70mm. For example, recently only Nope, No Time To Die, Wonder Woman 1984, etc had some scenes shot in IMAX 70mm but the film was finished digitally. It’s only and only Nolan that finishes on IMAX 70mm film and he releases movies once in 3-4 years. Cinemas cannot invest in a technology for which there’s going to be just one or two movies released in a year in that format. That would be catastrophic and unsustainable for any cinema’s business. IMAX digital is also owned and taken care by IMAX, please don’t call it LieMAX. IMAX puts in lot of effort in their digital IMAX experience and it truly is better than every other digital format. Digital is the best and only way 99.99% filmmakers shoot and present today. PVR Priya IMAX does full justice to the way movies are shot today and it’s a breathtaking movie watching experience worthy of the IMAX experience tag.

@@ShreyTyagi Agreed as per the profit perspective in the case of analogue projection, but if they really want to be the best then why not use dual laser projectors for 6K resolution, that's definitely the best digital quality Imax can achieve, why just stick to 2K and 4K in 2023?

@manojkonar3969 I discussed about this with @kdcloudy who has seen both, dual laser as well as single laser setups. Here’s the answer: 1) Dual Laser is used on 80ft+ IMAX screens only. 2) The max resolution is 4K only. 6K is not yet supported by any dual laser setups. So the 6K equivalent of dual laser is not true. It is 4K only. 3) There’s no difference between single laser in terms of sharpness. A single laser 4K would look same sharp as dual laser 4K. The only difference is in brightness. Since this screen is less wide than 80ft, using dual laser will make it so bright that it can harm your eyes. Therefore, dual laser IMAX is not recommended at PVR Priya and single laser XT is the best for this.

@@ShreyTyagi I misinterpreted the 6k resolution with the digital projection, 35mm analogue IMAX projection is equivalent to 6k, and yes if the distance is less then dual laser is inappropriate, however sharpness might not have the difference but the colour accuracy of laser projection is still way better than a single lens lamp source digital projector.

​@@manojkonar3969 Honestly, this entire notion that IMAX is 18K and 35mm is 6K is wrong. Technically, film doesnt have resolution. For a film, it entirely depends on at what size of the screen, and at what distance, can the image clarity and sharpness can be maintained.. in reality, tests and observations suggest that 2K can be easily substituted for 35mm, and 4K is equivalent to a 70mm print. By this logic, 8K is sufficient for IMAX, which again for screen sizes below 80 ft is not required.
