@@darionarretrea3586 Well, Germans also don't really look like Aryans. Aryans do exist, they are people between Iranian mountains and Kashmir, mostly. It is a cultural and linguistic group and they are what people would call "brown". They don't have blue eyes and blue hair (it is very rare in that population to have anything of lighter color) and they are not on the tall side when height is considered. So, to be fair, Japanese are closer to looking Aryan than the Germans. Germans have NONE of the characteristics while Japanese at least have the hair, height and eyes on pair with Aryans.
@Wustenfuchs1093 жыл бұрын
@@galaxykidM5 Not really. Nazis took the word and meaning from those people and legends and then applied it to themselves, so it is not two different things, it is the same thing that Germans decided to use for themselves for no realistic reason. The meaning of the word in ancient times was "noble", as in royalty - and that is why they took it. One of the oldest civilizations, Indus Valley/Kashmir/north India wrote about the Aryans bringing them culture and Nazis, wanting to be a part of that story took the meaning for themselves. One important thing - Nazis did not consider Germanic people Aryan, but the purest descendants of ancient Aryans from the myth who they claimed to be demigods. So even by Nazi standards, no one was really Aryan. They just claimed that Germanic people are the fraction of ancient Aryans that mixed the least with "lesser races". The Aryans that are referred to in both Nazi ideology and actual history are ONE AND THE SAME, it is just that Nazis perverted the term so it could apply to them as well. It was all the craze in late 19th and early 20th century. Germans, searching for a justification of greatness, looked for some ancient civilization and found it in Aryans who had the oldest known civilization and organized society, while Germans who lived in tribal communities in German swamps and forest had none on that level up until late Roman period - and they wanted to paint themselves as people who had thousands of years of history... and that is where the Aryan lineage comes into play. But yes, both actual history and Nazi ideology refer to the same Aryans, or simply people who lived in the described region, spanning from Mesopotamia to Kashmir.

You should watch his role breakdowns. He never had even an inkling that he'd be playing Hitler when he wrote the character, and when every actor they submitted the script to was outright denied by their agents and the studio asked him to play him, he said he had a brief time where he looked up books about Hitler on Amazon but proactively decided "Y'know what, fuck that guy. I'm not going to spend money to learn about him because frankly I don't give a damn about his life or who he was. I'm going to play the character as myself and hopefully wherever Hitler is now, he's rolling in his grave and feeling humiliated by my portrayal of him." Absolute legend.

One of the most evil men alive, thought they would leave a mark of change, fear and superiority upon earth, we're making fun of him in a movie now.
@dd-579fletcherwillyd.93 жыл бұрын
Honestly, if it wasn't for the Holocaust thing, Hitler would've been a big funny bitch. I mean, who takes some one-balled, softboi hairstyle-sporting attention-seeking 40 year old wearing a Chaplin moustache cross-dressing as a fancy army general (when in fact he was just a Lance Corporal during his time) spouting shit only televangelists say, surrounded by a malnourished shorty skeleton even louder when spouting Hitler's views, with a drug addict fatass as his police chief, and a creepy moustached uncle looking like a pedo searching for a perfect child. They were just humans like us, really. But what makes them horrifying is that these misfits were able to manipulate and intimidate an entire nation into following their wacky ideologies, and the fact that they were able to order these people into massacring innocent humans. And in my opinion, by portraying them as to who they are in reality- misfits trying to be big men on a world they don't have a realistic grasp- is one way of combatting and disspelling their stupid views and images carved up by propaganda. Also, the way in which the movie satirically portrays and challenges Nazist views is, for a lack of a better word, magnificent.

@Cian MacGana honestly, there's no realistic way they would've. If they did though, it would still be a hard time. The battlefield is bombed up, essential people branded as "undesirable" are dead by now so economic and livelihood recovery would be impossible, and revolts could be popping up from time to time, possibly funded and supplied by the Western Allies or Soviets, CIA-style by the OSS (WW2 precursor of CIA), MI6, and their Soviet counterparts. Really good review.I had a German teacher many years ago. He said Hitler Youth meetings were on Sunday morning at the same time as Sunday school.He said Hitler never said you couldn't go to church or Sunday school. His father a German protestant pastor passively refused to send him and his siblings to the meetings by lying to the Hitler Youth leaders and eventually the Gestapo that his children were sick. Eventually he, his brother and sister were taken from their home to the Hitler Youth meetings by the Gestapo (Secret State Police). The war ended for him at age 14 in the German army, captured by the US Army and two years in a French prisoner of war camp. He said that Hitler initially spoke of God in his radio speeches, but at the war's end, Hitler no longer mentioned God; he only spoke of a "Weltgeist," a "world spirit."
