Recording of BHS Scottish Hydrological Group (SHG) Webinar ''Mollusc of the Glen: the most important wildlife species in Scotland' from Wednesday 23rd February 2022 given by Peter Cosgrove from Alba Ecology.
The talk will focussed on the history of the species in Britain and then on the ecology of the species in Scotland, including its aquatic habitats and the hydrological conditions it is found in. It is Peter’s contention that this obscure river mollusc has had such profound effects on British and Scottish history and the ecology of its rivers, that it deserves to be recognised as the most important wildlife species in the country.
The meeting was hosted by Mark Wilkinson and Michael Stewart from the BHS Scottish Hydrological Group committee.
