In today's video I demonstrate how to perform bicep curls in order to take the stress off of your shoulder and prevent shoulder pain and injury.
The top of the bicep muscle is attached to the scapula (shoulder blade) by 2 long shoe string like tendons. Therefore, the bicep muscle crosses both the elbow and shoulder joint.
Often when bicep curls are performed, people engage the shoulder muscles (and bicep tendons) to help perform the exercise. This can often lead to inflammation of the upper bicep tendons.
If you frequently experience anterior (frontal) shoulder pain following bicep curls, then you should definitely watch this video. Dr. Joe demonstrates how to perform bicep curls without causing pain or injury to your shoulder.
Bicep curls should not cause you anterior shoulder pain. Give Dr. Joe's technique a try!
