Great you are actually DOING something - Action Time Vision - I had a 71' and they can be a bit frumpy dumpy when sagging in the back - but hey even the 67-69 Barracuda's can look frumpy without 'heels' (jacking them up a bit) - it is a unique looking car I had a Sebring - not sure the difference - but keep on keeping on the journey is half the fun

@@LunarOutlawsGarage You are welcome. Yes I think I will continue to enjoy your projects and adventures because I often (and I do not think I am alone on this) get started on a project and wonder if I do not have the tools, space, and money to get it done, and you manage to complete projects faced with these limitations and it does not stop you. This is why your channel is good, we would miss out on all the fun you have if we let these things stop us. I mean, I did not even know it was possible to repair a unibody until I saw it.

A couple of years ago I started to redo my 1973 Charger SE on my channel. I've had that car since I was a kid, but I've never had too much interest in finishing it up. Rebuilt 383/727 combo on a suregrip rear end. I stopped after I got the drivetrain in but i might just get it going again!

Remember, Mopar all the inner panels are body color rather than black like GM used to do if you want to keep it similar to the factory idea. I put poly bushings in my Dart and it was a lot tighter and added front and rear sway bars, huge improvement. The plan was to eventually add big bolt all around with disk brakes up front and use some nice cop 15x7 wheels. Never got that far but I have the parts. Keep working away at it. If you want more power down the road and not change much if the 318 doesn't cut it drop in a 360. Looking forward to how the 318 actually does when it's all done though. A 83/3 rear would be a worthwhile upgrade as well and might be slightly easier than finding one for a Dart these days but it'll work. They are very strong and use a drop in pumpkin so easy to change gears if you want. I still would paint the top black and clean it up a little for now and enjoy it.

You've done one helluva job with this car, Lunar. Yes, you have a long way to go, but you have come such a long way that you're crazy if you don't feel good about yourself. I'm 49yrs old and I've drug my fair share of hot rods out of the salvage yard, but I never had the skillset you do for metal work. I was lucky to grow up in a time when these cars had only been abandoned for a few years, and were still pretty solid. Currently, I have a N/A PT Cruiser that I'm really trying to figure something out with. Back in my day, I had a 86 Shelby Charger with the 2.2 turbo. I ballbusted many many of the early 5 liter mustangs, and every Camaro/Firebird that I ever lined up against. In stock form, I was 6 tenths quicker than the Mustangs, and about a second quicker than the F bodies. I need to find a way to make the Cruiser competitive with the modern Pony Cars to make the project feasible. I don't know. Anyway, I'm tipping my slightly faded Mopar cap to you.

MrBarr is on point. 😁🤙 we also have to remember that a fresh looking 1971-1972 Plymouth satellite Sebring will go for approximately $15,000 The one thing I do hold is a light body restoration certificate through PPG and I can easily estimate the bodywork paint and everything that would go into making this thing look fresh would be close to $7000 and that is optimistic, And the interior would probably cost between 4-5k

I would go with the 15 inch wheels they fill up the wheel well better . Are you going to bang out those dents ? Not a fan of air shocks or air ride for that matter .

@LunarOutlawsGarage 4 жыл бұрын
I agree man. I like 15-17in tires I think they always look sick, and you get a much larger selection of tires, but these wheels where free I just had to paint them. When I where is through these tires I will upgrade them to probably 17s. I always upgrade to coilovers but this was the set up that Tony has in bottle rocket. The engine is a near clone of the 318 in bottle rocket as well. When I started this project he was saying my engine would make 375-400hp and that bottle rocket was has a 10 second car.

You really should have just jacked up the Radiator cap and driven a better car under it... instead of air shocks you should just replace the springs and mounts. Air shocks are a poor man's way of keeping a saging car going till the line blows.

14s are cool and they look good....but you can't put the bigger mopar 11.75 rotors in the front won't clear with 14 inch wheels and the way modern cars like to zip around these old mopars......hell any classic..... You need all the brakes you can get!........ Maybe later in the build after you put some miles on her you can upgrade them.

You should see the break package going on the Buick when I really start to dig into it. I use to autocross back in college so that is what I like to build based on. Lol these old muscle cars plow though turns and smash the 1/4 mile.

@@LunarOutlawsGarage my 76 dodge charger has the front and back upgraded with all poly bushings and solid aluminum k-frame mounts stock t-bars for now it has the big mopar brakes 11.75 and big rear drums it does not plow when it goes into turns it pool table flat.. Stops straight as an arrow too.....it can be done and even easier with your satellite...my 71 charger is the same platform as your satellite and when I get done it will probably pull .98g on a skid pad not bad for a big B body mopar.....your Buick should also kick butt when your done. I like Tony but I want my cars to do more than go in a straight line.... My A-body 72 dart is going to be patterned after mopar actions green brick....and that thing competed in one lap of America and finished respectively Well..... ahead of some porsches and vettes.

"Done Right" ? Where ? 14" rims/tires, on a body carved in a. Wind tunnel with NASCAR 15 x 10s from Summer of 1970. Richard's favorite racecar body, with g8ven cut lines for real "stance" options. You spend days (daze) under theleft front fender, and never think of using a bag of rice, and Any one of your "dozens" of hammers, to pop out a simple dent, (NOT a crease).....

Think you should change the name of your channel. Lunar outlaw's Talk Show seems more appropriate. Been noticing as of late there is just way too much chit chat and repeating the same things over and over throughout the video (or a span of many vids). Having good wrenching footage and putting a together a well edited video is an afterthought. All the "work" footage is just lazy timelapse recording and slammed in for filler. Unsubbed for a while, maybe I'll come back around if the channel improves but honestly by Uploading pemieres and being unable to skip all the unnecessary crap is what made my mind up

I appreciate your feedback, but the analytics don’t support that. Most people watch the “chitchat”, and after the premiere, the ability to fast forward and rewind are enabled. I don’t premiere all of my videos, and the ones I do is to talk with all of you guys 😁🤙 again, I do appreciate the feedback.

Lmao so you realize you’re in over your head and decide “it’s a rat rod now” lol. Just be honest, you just want ad revenue and shirt sales. You’re not ever going to build anything worth discussing.

Lol man,not to take steam out of your sails, but there is a point in a project when you have to ask yourself are you going to spend more on repairs than what the car. You can get a clean 318 satellite Sebring for $14,000. Starting from the very beginning of this collaboration ,this project is approaching $7,500. Without labor, the metalwork, paint, interior, re-chrome, tax on all the parts, materials,and other miscellaneous things,it would cost upwards of $11,000 to bring this to a clean example, and at the end of it, I would have a $20,000 car worth $14,000. Or, I can urn it into something that I can enjoy without spending much more money, then put that $11,000 into my twin turbo 6.0 LS 71 Buick GS that took me 13 years to get.
