This song hits so close to home for me. The line “ Someone ran away with her innocence” is exactly what it feels like. I suffered these types of abuse as a child. Thank you for sharing Billy and saying we are stronger than we realize. ❤️ What I went through doesn’t define who I am as a person. Im a survivor and I am strong.

Jamie LeAnn I am not going to go into details but I could say that I too can relate to this song and the one line as I was hurt when I was only 2 years old according to what my mom has told me. And I completely agree that things like this should not define a person and we are survivors and we are strong ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I as well, the memories were repressed until 8yrs ago. The unhealed trauma led to more assaults as a teen and young woman. This song makes me feel like someone understands my pain and I'm little less alone. Much love to yall.

Truthfully I had forgotten about this song... I use to think it was so sad when I heard it growing up ...but now it hits home ... my older sister ..was our second mom...she was always soo vibrant...would literally light up any room she came in...she worked at a cancer research facility....she had a way with her patients ...she truely has a gift with people...she then made some poor life choices and is with someone who has literally taken all light from her...she went from happy and healthy to this broken person who denies all abuse despite being covored in bruises...she tries to hide the pain but it shows...especially in her eyes ....I try to be there for her and I've told her ...no matter what I'll always love you and will never ever let go of you ..... any and all abuse is soo wrong no one deserves to go thru that pain ... I've always loved the saying " putting someone's light out will not make yours glow brighter" I pray that the day comes when she sees how much she truely is loved ( despite what he tells her) and how she is strong enough to overcome this

Congratulations Billy. I think you are the first to react to this beautiful song. Big and Rich have such a unique sound in the way that they harmonize. The video with this was about as awesome. This song came out some years ago to bring awareness to sexual abuse. In fact, I think that may have been before there was much of anyone bringing awareness to what sexual abuse does to a person. Be it a baby, a child, a teen or an adult. It is the one thing that reaches down into the soul of a person and just rips it all to pieces.......

Thank you for reacting to this one Billy! Both my best friend and I are survivors and this song helped us through some hard times. She was in college when she was hurt. I was in middle school. We've helped each other through the tough parts and I'm thrilled to say that both of us have each found someone who put the light back in our eyes! She's getting married to her amazing fiance in Oct '21. Mine asked me this Halloween! We're planning ours for Halloween '22! I'm so happy to report that while there are still bad days, IT DOES GET BETTER!

Congratulations. You are proof that there is nothing God cannot heal; the right kinds of friends are His gift to us. I myself have not suffered this particular indignity, but I think only one of my friends- male and female- was not the victim of rape or molestation. If i had a dime for every tear that has fallen down my shoulders over the last three decades I could retire. We have got to learn how to prop each other up and stop tearing each other down; or worse completely avoid the subject just in case someone may disagree with us, reject us, or misunderstand our intent. We must learn the art of knowing when to speak and when to listen; we must always be willing to hear people out, but still not be so naive as to not keep in the back of our minds that there are those out there who will intentionally cause harm. I think that is what is driving this particular trend of reaction videos; we are curious to know which things supercede cultural boundaries, and are instead part of the commonalty of human experience. As for Gen-X we have witnessed or been the victim of so much neglect and violence over the last four decades that we feel driven to reach out to strangers, especially the Millennials, to offer what we were denied: a willingness to hear. I have an overwhelming sense, having read the comments on various sites that we are using the platform of sharing music in a way so as to reassure ourselves that neither are we alone in our experiences nor do we need to fall prey to dispair because there are numerous examples of the healing that may be had through our faith in God and the love of our friends which honestly constitute the majority of what we refer to as our families. I am going to make an observation from a Christian point of view if you don't care to read it no offense taken. Notwithstanding, as an Orthodox Christian I believe in the Isncarnation, and it always helps to remember that God loves us so much as to want to suffer everything we suffer so as to be able to help us through and remind us that everyone in the world belongs first to him and then one to the other; that even the evil doers are God's wayward children and, therefore, we should forgive by praying for their souls -After we send them to jail- and feel no shame for our pain; after all, even the criminal has a chance at Redemption if only he embraces the forgiveness being offered to him by a Heavenly Father who is angry at what he has done, but still loves him.

As a nurse, those are my hardest cases. I once worked in a super small town ER and had to treat the victim and the perpetrator. I remember go back and forth and the cops thought I was taking it so well. I remember looking the sherriff in the face and telling him his missed when the hit the guy in the shoulder. I'm not normally violent but that man did the most unimaginable things to that child.

Your emotions are what make it/you so real, so believable. This song is such a sad song, but empowering too. If you were to just be pretending emotions, I honestly don't think you would be having the subscribers you do. Your laughter in some reactions and the sound of tears in others make me feel them too. Thank you for being you!

Thank you for reacting to this video this song has helped me through so many hard times because I've been there. I was no older than my daughter is now she's 14 and I was 14 when it happened to me and it changed my life luckily I have some friends that help me out of it and I found a wonderful man and we've been together for 15 years now. But during the them hard days this song helped and my friends did too but when it happened it wasn't just one time it was multiple times that he did it to me the guy that I was with at the time I'm just glad that somehow I got the strength to walk away from it and say no it's not my fault it was his I wish more women had that strength and it's sad that we do live in a world today that men do that and never apologize for showing your emotions that's what makes you real that's what make your Channel real and thank you for being honest with us.

Love your message. People who hear the truth and pain in those lyrics appreciate your kindness and support. Sometimes it just helps to have the encouragement you gave with this song reaction, to remind people out there that things like that are not their fault. And they are worthy of love and support. So thank you so much for that. Just know it makes a difference. And thank you also for reacting to these beautiful songs that have lyrics that brings us all to tears, but are so meaningful. So many people might miss out on a song they would have never listened to otherwise, and it could give them hope, or peace, or remind them of a loved one. That kind of thing can just mean the world to someone listening and watching. So this is a big, big thank you to you for putting yourself out there for all of us.💕🥰🌈💐

My husband and I split 3 years ago ending our 30 year marriage. I started dating again and met someone I that I didn't want a physical relationship with so we decided to be friends because we always had so much fun. Two months had passed when I went over to watch movie and that's when it happened. Even though I had been married to a certain degree it actually robbed me of innocence. My husband was the only man that I had ever been with. This man did horrible things that I had never seen before. . I still hate myself for trusting him, and for not driving myself over. I stayed outside his door (in November) until the next morning because I had no money and no one to call. I still struggle with trying to keep myself from feeling so filthy, praying and asking God to keep me from hating him and not blaming myself for what he did. I just love you and watching you're reaction videos because you are so real. Thank you for what you do on your channel. ❤️

I just turned 34....and it’s hard because there’s sooo sooo much stuff I can’t do for myself....I have to rely on my mom to help me

With everything I have been through I thought I am just not going to find the right person I am just going to be alone but then I found the man I am with now and any time the memories take over and I need to cry it out he just holds me tells me it’s ok and I deserve good things and I remind him he is one of the good things and I just hope I get to spend forever with him

Big and rich are amongst my favorites. For every good time party song they have, they hit you with one of these. Or a lost in this moment. So much talent between them.

First, this song was actually written about Big's sister. That who he is singing to in the video. She went through what they sing about. I would like to say Thank You Billy! For those of us who are survivors of abuse in one way or another, weather woman or man need to hear what you said. With a father like you I know your daughter is safe and protected....teach her everything she needs to protect herself. Love herself no matter what, and remember, she is your daughter! She will know what to do.

I couldnt listen to this with you Billy but I do love the song and I felt exactly the way this song represents. I begged for death for a long time. Its something that is unimaginably hard to get past and you never really do. Its stats with you for life. Especially when it's someone you trusted with your whole heart and was your best friend. The smallest things can trigger the memory. It's the worst thing I have ever been through.

@@egomaniac247 thank you so much. I really needed to hear that. It's been 4 years and it still seems like yesterday sometimes and it gets almost too much to bare. @@loraharvey6740 Have you ever listened to Sarah Evans "I get a little bit stronger?" Don't blame me for the tear jerker but you come across to me the way that the character in the song sounds at the end. Like a fighter. You got this!

@@egomaniac247 yes I know the song very well and yes I fight hard every day. And I do get a little stronger everyday. I have two daughters and I will fight the emotions with all of my being to try like hell to protect them from ever having to go through something so horrific. I can survive it happening to me and I will hold my head up high in the near future again but I would kill if someone stole from my daughters what was stolen from me. I appreciate your support very much. It shows me that I am not fighting a losing battle. Thank you so much.
