I even have a coach... And I often feel over trained. I used to be a fairly high level high School athlete, played a little semi-pro baseball back in the day and I was a paratrooper in the 82nd airborne so I understand go hard or go home and I tend to live by that and in triathlon it's the worst possible methodology. I'm trying so so so much harder to listen to my internal voice when I know I'm over trained... I mean I'm 48 years old, trying to be the best possible husband and father...my boys are three and a five-year-old and they have more energy than a nuclear reactor and also trying to not suck at my job. there just comes a time or you've got to listen to that in your voice. this video definitely helps with trusting my instincts when I'm going too hard. Recovery has to match training or I need to dial down training.

Are you doing any outdoor work? Do you think running outdoors with the natural elements will increase your overall performance long term? I am assuming that is why you alternate between the Nordic Track(Soft Track) and the other beast treadmill by your glass to simulate harder road surfaces?

@ironmantooltime

He prefers it. Stems from training in Canada where the winters are cold and impractical plus from not wanting to get hit on the bike. Personally yes I do get better tendon strength from trail running but in a road marathon shouldn't really be an issue.

Yeah hes training but true if running on roads you have to move your body from the floor on treadmill ther floor is already moving....ur statement is true... I think we both know that what context hes using the mill for simply training and it still is 99 percent approach to train running dont get me wrong but yes more exertion /energy is needed to run on the roads...
