haha, i played romero's aftermath back when i was in highschool, i was really impressed by that shit back then since i don't have a good rig and was just using some old laptop, and for someone who's from Southeast Asia, most of the time, free games = good games. Then went through all the bullshit everyone else has but until recently, I didn't know they were still releasing more crap for the masses... I almost gave Outbreak a shot until I saw this video. They would just payoff game review mags back in the day for kind reviews so people started going to KZfaqrs for the info. They created their own problem and you are not it. A viewer from Thailand here. WarZ is pretty much one of the biggest games around here. I don’t play it tho. I’m not 100% sure, but I’ve heard that the dev build of WarZ was bought by a giant gaming company, modded to fully support microtransactions and live event updates (the same kind of effort cannot be said about graphical optimization however) the SEA servers are so populated even to this day is because how a lot of people here see what it offer, not how good it is. You see, AAA gaming around our part of the world is still somewhat hard to get into, parents not willing to buy games or consoles for their children for example. So WarZ (now run by a big company) cashed in, the game was open to play for free and advertised in pretty much every internet café around the country. For some reason, we LOVE online survival games. If any game has a bunch of people running around looting and killing each other, we play and eat that shit up. So NewZ was an easy sale. “A free to play Dayz type game? Sign me up!” After getting all the attention, it’s time for them to make a profit. Pay to win microtransactions (you could buy bundles of weapons and items like bandages if I remember correctly), literal slot machines that require real money to spin for a random ingame item. People really paid hundreds of dollars for these things. That’s not the worst part. When you die in WarZ, the items you had will drop on the ground, even the ones you paid for. So the game creates this form of rivalry and acts of revenge between players, so it leads to: either you put your cash in more to buy better guns to kill the guy and get your stuff back or accept that you just lost your money. Of course we’ll get revenge, toxicity isn’t just unregulated, it’s a goddamn norm. Little kids in WarZ here are savages, and not in a badass way. So the “big bois” in WarZ put more cash in, hoping to put those kids back in their places. This game is basically players robbing one another, while the devs watch and take their money. Why is nobody complaining about this? Because like I said, we don’t get to play good games here. Or at least, not a lot of us can. So the majority of the market plays whatever their friends play, and it leads to WarZ. If you have read to this point, I have to thank you for having a care. I want to see changes done to gaming industry in my home area for the better, so even if it doesn’t help directly, spreading awareness of this issue is better than nothing.

It sounds to me, from watching your videos over the past year or so that a lot of these kids just download assets from Unreal and the like and just literally copy/paste them into an existing engine and then charge you 15-20$ for "early access" of a game that is really going no where? You're doing God's work, Bigfry. Keep it up. Keep exposing these 21st century snakeoil salesmen.

I kinda feel him on the whole, we just run it til the game dies thing, except for when hes talking about making the "best" experience. Each of these games are literally CLONE of the prior game. If he wanted to make a game we all wanted to see...It would include Crafting, better movement (at least on the player side) and he should even look into late-game experiences that would have players coming back(clan battles, base raids, etc. If this is your dream dood GIVE IT ALL YOU'VE GOT not the same effort 17 times lmao

Dude it depends on what you define as finished :D The question is if they are capable to pull it of technically. Most visual improvements and object density in last years came from parallel and opzimization, devs threw over whole engine parts to get there so no i dont think they are able to do it.

Seeing Sergey Titov on anything is like seeing LJN on old console games. You just know it's going to be a dumpster fire. As soon as the gameplay started I reacted at the same time as Bigfry that it looks just like fucking WarZ just a little better lighting. This should be re-titled to Romero's Afterbirth instead of Outbreak.

I don't think it looks or plays bad, it's very simplistic. The style I mostly enjoyed over the years. If the price isn't too high, I would mind supporting the game. I know he might be a scumbag. But this one game, doesn't seem as bad as BigFry describes it. (it's BF's job to bring out the worst in games) so we can't take it too seriously. I would destroy even triple A games if I could, so I understand. But it would need some approval, to dodge the claims.

Got some news for you for this game now. After they sold the copies for the game legit 2 WEEKS later they said they sold it to another company and had nothing to do with it anymore and then shut the servers and discord down. Here we are months later and no word on what it even is anymore. This was the worst scam yet

most of what you say is spot on but i think the game looks a little bit better than what u gave credit for, to me the world and environments look way better than deadside for example and the amount of zombies on screen was quite impressive.

the arcadey movement is intentional because majority of the playerbase wants that, ragdoll zombies are in the game and the fps was most likely from rendering the video, and yes its an alpha so zombie anims and shit are gonna be clunky

Sergey Titov has been in the industry longer than most developers working at AAA studios and yet his craftsmanship is still that of a guy who bought a pack of Unity assets and compiled them to shove onto Steam for $2. He has only just barely improved the quality of his work from The War Z, or even Big Rigs for that matter.

I thought that was ready or not devs talking shit at the beginning lol.
